Our stay at Aegon was great! The location is great, one of the best spots to stay in Mykonos. The room was large and very well furnished. The pool was great, and the food as well (you have to give the burgers a try, they're delicious!)

We were torn about staying here after reading the saga on One Mile At A Time, seeing some of the suspicious looking reviews left on TripAdvisor, and hearing other negative comments posted on the Marriott website and Flyer Talk. We ultimately decided to go ahead with our stay because our SNA request for an Aqua Suite had cleared, and other hotel options in the area were very expensive.  We came to Mykonos as the first stop on our trip to Greece to enjoy the beach and take it easy; while making short excursions to explore the island. We were able to do all of this staying at Aegon. The beach is beautiful (and very swimmable) and Kalo Livadi is actually quieter than other locations on the island for those who don’t party or go to clubs. The bed was one of the best we slept in on our trip to Greece. The room was very soundproof, the a/c was super quiet, and the blinds kept it very dark.  The bathroom was really nice with double sinks, high quality toiletries and towels, and a large shower with excellent water pressure. We also didn't mind the toiletries and found this to be quite good. The hotel has a nice infinity pool, spa and gym (which we did not use), a restaurant and bar, and free parking. There is no beach club or direct beach access at this hotel so you need to be prepared to grab a towel and enjoy the public parts of the beach or pay for chairs and umbrellas at one of the beach clubs. Overall, the property is aesthetically pleasing and seems well maintained but it is hard to get beyond the power lines and messy parking lot/storage area that obstruct a clear view of the beach.  We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast buffet (a Titanium member benefit) and a-la-carte options but found strange limitations such as a “one cup of coffee per person” rule very bizarre considering this is a high-end hotel.  Similar to other Marriott members using SNAs, we had issues with our confirmed upgrade to an "Aqua Suite". Having to sort this out with hotel management was unpleasant after travelling for about 24 hours. The hotel appears to be aware of these problems, but has not addressed the root cause. As other travellers have noted, there appears to be strange management issues with this properly. From photoshopped photos on the website and misleading property/room features to having a fire alarm go off in the middle of night with no explanation or apology. Another strange item - half the staff wear a uniform, while others don't. We found this strange for a hotel aspiring to offer a high-end experience, and when combined with the general openness of the property to the surrounding area it could lead guests to feel that overall security is lacking. Overall, the Aegon Mykonos is a nice new hotel, but there are definitely some drawbacks to consider. Despite the nicely finished rooms and a low-key atmosphere (for Mykonos) and location on a nice stretch of beach, the ongoing service/management and SNA issues are hard to ignore, especially for Marriott Bonvoy members looking to redeem points and/or awards.

Really amazing experience! The location secluded, front facing the blue sea, providing you a relaxing setting if you want to wind down. The staff is helpful and professional. The rooms look exactly like in the pictures. Top notch quality, extremely good service. About 20 minutes away from Mykonos old town by car. Would highly recommend!

2 night stay here. Marriott Suite Night Awards cleared into a REVIVE Aqua Suite, which I actually really enjoyed. In the end, I had a good stay. There were issues (see below), but this was a solid redemption given the room retailed for 1300 euros a night the following week (and is in no way worth that). PROS: · It’s a nice location to park yourself for a couple of days. I’m not sure about a week but I enjoyed being in a new part of the island (but I was moving to Town anyway). Do not stay here as a Mykonos first timer - there are better parts of the island. · The A/C is silent, and some of the best I’ve experienced in Mykonos. · The bed was great, again one of the comfiest in Mykonos. · The private (cool) tub was PHENOMENAL. I spent most of my days there and it was refreshing and fun. · The restaurant for dinner was tasty. · The soundproofing on the rooms is excellent. · Great products, shower, bathroom, and the room décor (the entire hotel décor) is really clean and pleasing. · The hotel is virtually beachfront. I know folks have reported you cross a parking lot etc but it’s so close that it's not a problem. The pool is beautiful. Breakfast was really really good. There are breakfast menus on every table (and hand sanitizer) at Revive. CONS: · The sewerage smell, as reported, is real and strong. This was really disappointing. I went running in the area both days and the smell is really just confined to the Aegon (Revive) area. Retreat should be fine. It’s a real shame. · The location may not be for some. · Many of the service elements were sloppy (as noted above). Check-In, Taxi Transfers, etc. I had to wait 20-30 mins at the airport for the ‘complimentary transfer’, while most of my flight had already received theirs. Not a big deal, but a bit frustrating. Not all staff are observing COVID protocols, either. · On that note, I was called on the final night for a transfer booking. I was moving to another hotel, which the caller said was ‘illegal in Greece’ (to transfer hotel to hotel). I kinda laughed and hung up and went to the front desk to confirm. One of the staff members proudly (almost excitedly) told me it was “illegal” and indeed it is not possible. If that’s the rule, I’m ok, but the way they enjoyed it was very bizarre. · Drink prices are high. · The powerlines are there; however this didn’t bother me at all. · No pro-active towel service…every time I ordered a drink I felt like I was imposing. This isn’t just “Greek service”; I’ve stayed at several other properties on the island who get this right. Do better.

I rarely take the time to submit reviews for hotel properties, but I felt after my visit to the Aegon on the island of Myknonos, that I had to. There are 2 different facilities part of this hotel — one is located very close to the sea and the other is up the street just a two minute walk. I stayed at the upper location in one of the most amazing rooms. I was in the Aqua Room Retreat with the semi private pool. What can I say? I had my own pool to enjoy any time I wanted to. Needless to say after reading a few of the negative reviews online, I was nervous about my stay. This changed immediately upon my arrival at the hotel. I was greeted by the most warm team members that welcomed me as if it were their home. They encouraged me to relax and leave my bags aside and go to the outside terrace to enjoy a welcome beverage as I checked in. The most amazing young lady helped me (i'm sorry, but I don't remember your name) and helped checked me in and familiarize me with the property and amenities. This was a "wow" from the start for me. I also must say that this is one of the cleanest properties that I have ever stayed in. Very well kept in my opinion. Despite the hottest temp in 27 years while I was there, I enjoyed my time there. I spent 1 day going on a tour to Delos and I must say, this is an absolute "must see" when visiting. Don't miss it! The other few days I spent relaxing by the pool and also at the sea. Kalo Livadi beach is one of the nicest beaches in Mykonos. Becomes lively on the weekend, but not to the extreme. Good balance of families and young people, good music, drinks and food. What made me the most happy about this property — the entire team! I actually met one of the owners and she was very pleasant and really took the time to get to know me. Even seeing me several days after first meeting, remembering me, and taking interest in my stay and my visit to Greece. She really took time to make sure my visit was spectacular. And it was! Also, Panagiotis who I met upon arrival at reception was so kind and helpful. Wanting to make sure I was happy and enjoying my time. His colleague, the other gentleman, I can't remember was also very helpful and nice. I spent a good bit of time sitting around hotel and talking to them because they were so much fun and very nice. Even the bar and restaurant team. The servers and bartenders were all very caring and nice. And really took interest in me and my visit. That always means a lot to me, especially since I was traveling solo. The only negative I have to say, and it's not regarding the hotel, but the distance to the old town of Mykonos. I felt as though this is a property that one can visit to relax versus party all night. The ride to town in taxi or car can be quite expensive, but I was made aware of this ahead of time by the hotel. They advised me it's better to rent a car, but I did not have my drivers license. I made it work. So many thanks to the entire team at the Aegon! I hope to come back one day!
