Kind people who run the place and a decent breakfast. But the room was not my style. Quite out dated and a too soft bed. The hotel is located next to a busy road and therefore the room was quite noisy. So not bad for one night and not expensive, but not sure if I would recommend it.
The hotel is located in quite uncharming surroundings with a lot of traffic. The room we got was clean not so large but with good bed and nicely furnished but quite small bathroom. Breakfast was with only a limited sortiment. Quite expensive compared to quality but might work well if you only come here to sleep inbetween visits to Gent and Brugge.
Arriving at the Prelude Hotel we had to ring the doorbell, after some time the owner opened the door and invited us in. The room was rather poor but comfortable with a good bed. But after 11.00 pm the bar is closed and the door to the section of the rooms is locked. The owner is panic for people who smoke in the hotel. Next morning we had to wait for the breakfast table because other people had their breakfast a short time before. The breakfast was poor. Every time when there was a lack of bread the owner added a small couple of rolls. The website of the hotel tells you about comfort, style and luxery. The chairs in the restaurant are terrible and damaged. There is not any style and luxery in this hotel.
Nice small hotel located between Gent and Brugge with friendly owner, well equipped (minibar and television in the room), clean and comfortable room (we liked the fact it was nice and warm when we walked in on a cold winter evening) and a good breakfast. Stayed for 4 nights and were well happy. You do need a car to stay here.
My daughter and I spent 2 nights at this hotel. My daughter had a swim competition in Gent that weekend and this hotel was only a 30-minute drive to the pool. The room was big and clean and so was the bathroom. I loved the fact that the room had a fridge. Breakfast was excellent. We had to leave early in the morning to get to the pool, so the owner told us he would have breakfast ready for us at an earlier time. We felt so sorry for him, but he told us it was no problem. There was so much food (even hard boiled eggs) and it was just the 2 of us. Everything was delicious. There was cheese, all kinds of ham, cereal, milk, apple & orange juice, all kinds of fresh buns, croissants, yoghurt, all kinds of fruit, jam, cookies and so much more. Amazing. The 2nd morning we had to leave 1 hour earlier than the 1st morning and because he felt that my daughter needed a good breakfast, so that she would swim better, he had breakfast ready for us at 7 AM. We felt so guilty, but he insisted on frying eggs for her. You don't get this service anywhere. The hotel is situated on a busy road, but you don't hear any traffic once you're inside. There's enough parking space at the hotel. It's right in between Gent and Brugge. Wifi is excellent. Love this hotel and we will definitely go back.…
