Very clean and stylish hotel. Excellent breakfast. Rooms very stylish, good bed, we even had a small balcony. Quiet but close to the beach. Everything went without any problem, from the booking to the arrival and the departure.

We stayed at Hotel Astel for two nights while in de Haan. The hotel has been renovated a couple of years ago and looks splendid. Our room was lovely and very clean. The terrific and spacious bathroom really made it feel like a luxury room. The morning breakfast was top notch and had everything you could wish for. Our only...

The is a very smartly renovated period building, not on the front, but very close. Inside is ultra modern, decorated in not quite fifty shades of beige, taupe and grey. It's all a question of taste but a few splashes of colour would lift the neat but rather sombre appearance. We had a family room, in effect two rooms and...

We spent 2 nights here. De Haan seems to be one of the nicest places along the Belgium coast and this hotel is just a few yards walk from the beach. Warm welcome, good English spoken, very comfortable room and excellent breakfast - every item (and there is a very good selection) refilled before you ask. We also ate here...

We only stayed here for one night, and we arrived during a thunderstorm, but managed to secure a parking place right outside. We had a "Manuel" moment as we mistakenly went in through the Bistro, and the waiter had no idea what we were asking him, ie, where is the reception? We were attended to by the daughter of the...

We spent one night in the pleasant resort on the Belgian coast. No view of the sea from here but just a few paces and your are on the seafront. The welcome when we checked in was muted and not really friendly. Our room seemed to be fairly recently refitted (in modern style) and we found it to be a...

The people at the hotel are very friendly, they have good personal touch to their guests. It's a great get-away hotel for couples. They use good quality bathroom equipment also. The breakfast has a hearty selection of choices.

stayed there with my wife a couple of days ago. It is a family-run hotel. Its name is gounded in history, it means asthma-hotel, as in the old days it used do be a preventorium for city people with a weak constitution. Now it has become a wondeful place, cosy, refined, romantic. >>The staff are also very kind and helpful....

For the first holiday with our two month old son, we stayed at Hotel Astel for a few days. We immediately felt welcome, the staff (speaking 3-4 languages) was very friendly and gave us a map with interesting spots of De Haan and recommended a few good restaurants. The hotel, just a few steps from the sea, has been refurbished...

“As with most European hotels there was no kettle in the room so if you like a warm beverage bring your own. Although the hotel probably only has around 8 rooms it does have a lift. This hotel also has a restaurant and has excellent value meals, worth a try.”
