First off, don't mix up this B&B with another one of the exact same name in Conteville (which is also in Normandy but 1 hour to the northeast by car)! This review and this page are for the B&B in Villers-Bocage 😉 We went back to La Ferme du Pressoir for the second time in April 2022 and had an experience just as delightful as the first time back in 2015! Odile is an incredible host. It helps to speak some French, but I'm sure her kindness and hospitality would transcend language barrier. She makes you feel like family - you might even say royalty! Her breakfast is top notch. You will be stuffed with scrumptious French pastries, including a delectable pastry native to the nearby village. If you love birds, you will be delighted to be serenaded in the morning!! It's a nice location in between the D-Day beaches and Mont Saint Michel. Both times we've stayed here we did the Normandy (D-Day) beaches the first day, then MSM the next day.…
I loved this place so much that I wanted to return someday and share it with family members, but I received no response to two inquiries placed Nov. 1 and 3, 2021. I hope the owners are well. The highlight of our stay was the varied and bountiful breakfast. In particular, I was so pleased with the flavor of the honey they provided (I usually find honey too cloyingly sweet) that I bought and brought some home. I also enjoyed trying out my French with Odile, who was very pleasant to talk to, as was her husband. This was in October 2015, a choice not allowed by the drop-down menu.
Could not have been any better. Odile met us with all the local apple flavors and treats. Our accommodations were so breathtakingly country French and had everything we needed. Breakfast was everything you could ask for and more. We were even given bags to take whatever we wanted for a picnic later. Upon returning our 2nd day we were delighted to go with Odile to feed the goats and horses. We picked tomatoes and gapes in the hothouses, gathered eggs in rustic hen house, then picked raspberries and blackberries out back. It is truly a working farm and an extraordinary French country side experience.
We spent seven nights at La Ferme du Pressoir and had an absolutely perfect stay. The room was comfortable and clean, and the farm itself is located within easy striking distance of the D Day beaches, MSM, Entretat and Bayeux. What set this B & B apart from the rest was our friendly and gracious hostess, Odile. She made us feel like family or friends she was welcoming into her home. Her breakfasts were a literal feast: cereal, cheeses, meats, yogurt, fresh raspberries and plums from her garden, pastries, breads, warm just-baked muffins, crepes, and omelets with freshly gathered eggs. She also leaves little bags out and encourages you to pack a lunch with any of the breakfast items. Every day, she sent us on our way with brochures and maps for the places we planned to visit. The farm and Odile are both truly treasures!…
This was our second visit to La Ferme du Pressoir and we were not disappointed. Odile Delalande, is a very warm and generous hostess who goes out of her way to make sure that all of her guests are comfortable. Our breakfasts were amazing, with numerous breads and pastries, fresh fruit, yogurt, and cheeses. She also offered to make us omelets each morning. The other guests whom we met were also pleased with their choice of this B&B. What makes it so special is not only the lovely decor and comfortable rooms but Odile's hard work and eagerness to insure that everyone has a great visit.
Odile was a wonderful host during our visit on 6/15/19-6/20/19. The breakfasts and snacks were plentiful and delicious. We appreciated all her efforts to make us welcome and our stay memorable. The home and grounds are delightful. This was one of the best European trips we’ve had and meeting Odile, staying in her lovely home, enjoying the bountiful breakfasts, and visiting with her animals greatly contributed to the positive experience.
I stayed at La Ferme du Pressoir in 2019. Odile is a great hostess who can answer your questions about Normandy. I enjoyed the room and outstanding country location. Great breakfast, too with several other guests!
Odile is a wonderful host, we were in the second unit and it was just a comfortable place. It is a bit off the beaten path, you have to drive for anything, but it is a peaceful place to stay. My wife is planning another stay on the middle of this one. Odile serves a wonderful breakfast and the ducks in the pond are great company. The cider they make is really nice. Rooms are clean and beds are comfy and bathrooms have space. Five out of five.
We stayed five nights in chambre marine. The room was perfect for our family of four. Odile is a kind and gracious host. Our children enjoyed collecting the eggs with her and playing in the garden. Would highly recommend.
Awesome B&B, I stayed at many in Europe and I must say it is one of the best I ever stayed at. Odile was a great host, very accommodating. A little bit of a language barrier, just added to the excellent experience. Rooms were beautiful as well as the grounds. Great location for touring Normandy battlefields along with Bayeux and other must see areas. Breakfasts were out of this world, enough to feed a small village. Odile would even give you bags to pack a picnic lunch. She even let me get my eggs straight from the chicken coop! When we arrived we were greeted with a bottle of apple cider made on site from their press, and I was even treated with a type of cognac made from apples that was very good. Every night we would get back in time to sit out on the back patio and enjoy the beautiful sunsets. We were sorry we only had 2 nights there, but will definatly return for at least a 5 day stay.…
