Very well situated in a pictoresque town in Frankenland (part of Bavaria). Very good biking circuits in the neighbourhood. Excellent, "state-of the art"-cuisine. Not the very traditional "heavy" regional dishes. Very professional and friendly staff.
We will come back

The Parkhotel is a rather new building with spacious, friendly rooms in the Franconian lake district. We had a cosy suite of rooms consisting of a large living room, a bedroom and a large, elegant bathroom. The food in the restaurant "Chicoree" was fabulous regardless of whether we ate à la carte or the proposed menue. The spa area features a swimming pool, Jacuzzi, a steam room, a Finnish sauna and an infrared sauna. We had a very relaxing time. The only downside is that the spa area is rather small for the number of guests the hotel can accomodate. We were lucky that the hotel was not fully booked when we were there. But even then we had sometimes trouble to find free loungers. Nevertheless, we would recommend this hotel for a short getaway.

Hello Trippies

I spent four days at this hotel. This is the best hotel in Gunzenhausen.

The location is great and the included breakfast is quite good.

As for the beds...they are quite stiff and not comfortable at all. The bathrooms are quite good with the exception of a poorly designed shower that makes half the bathroom wet while showering. When you get out of the shower you will be in a small pool of water.

The pool area is quite nice however I did not get the chance to swim.

Overall not a bad hotel for such a small town.

We had a nice two-room suite (with two twin beds pushed together in each) with a small kitchen. Beds were firm, pillows small, and no A/C. But place was clean and with windows open cool enough to sleep. Friendly owners. Ate dinner at the restaurant -- traditional Franconian dishes, delicious. The pool and spa in the basement is quirky. Spa is self-serve but costs; the pool doesn't cost extra but no towels. However, it is pretty with jets and a tree/cave decor. Very nice.

Good rooms, workshop facilities and restaurant- the wellness area is also very nice.

When the weather allows it the surroundings are great, check out the Storchennest nearby .

Currently construction next to the hotel which is a bit too loud in the morning.

Very decent and nice Hotel to stay. Clean & tidy rooms however electric kettle is missing and no tea or coffee inside the room. Have nice minibar with soft and hard drinks. Great breakfast buffet full of variety. Staff is excellent and very well behaved. I will recommend to stay here to have taste of German Hospitality.

We have stayed here with a few other families for a five day stay. It's one of these places where it's all ok-ish, but you never feel really home and comfortable.
The whole design and equipment of the hotel is clearly from the 90ies, so don't expect something modern or state of the art. Food, service, rooms are good average. Clearly this place benefits from it's location close to the lake area (you still need a car to get there). The owners we invisible and never made an attempt to get to know us better, although we were such a big group of four famlies.
A strange place, would not recommend it further

Dear Guest, thank you for your rating. The hotel exists since 20 years, so the equipment is from the 90ies. It is a pity that the device is not to your taste. But other people don't like the new look and prefer the style from our hotel. We are a family-run hotel and want that guests feel right at home and familiar. We are very pleased, that the food and the stuff is to your satisfaction. You can walk in 20 minutes from our hotel directly to the lake area. Also you can borrow a bike from the hotel and go cycling to the lakes. With best wishes QUALITY MANAGEMENT Parkhotel Altmühltal
