I was lucky enough to have a room overlooking the main street. Great location, although the car park isn't very big.
Friendly staff who could cater for gluten free which is a rarity in this part of the world it seems. (Although no gluten free beer, had to head to Kaufland supermarket for that).
Be prepared for the early wake up when the town's clock bells start too.

Stayed almost a week at this hotel and even with the Corona situation, had a very enjoyable stay.
One does need a certain amount of luck to get one of the parking spaces at the hotel. Most guests have their bikes with them including the bike trailers that take up some space in the lot.
The room was rather warm for sleeping.
The location of the hotel is very good - lots to see and do in the vicinity. Some rather nice restaurants in town as well.

I have been staying at the Adlerbrau now for 7 weeks, back and forward every 2 weeks due being in Germany for business.
The hotel seems to be very popular and now I know why, the rooms are very modern, clean and tidy to a very high standard (maid service everyday). The staff are very welcoming to everyone, there are a couple of them who speak quite good English which has made my stays here easier as I don't really speak any German.
The restaurant food is to a very high standard (and this is coming from one the most fussy eaters ever). They have both German and English menus but if you still don't know what to have they will always recommend something.
There is a Beer Garden to the rear of hotel, also seating at the front terrace so you always manage to get a seat somewhere without any problems.
Gunzenhausen itself is very quaint town with various shops, bars and other places to eat, I only tried a couple of other places as I normally stuck to the hotel (my choice).
I would recommend this hotel to all ages, groups etc. The only negative thing I can say is that I leave at the end of July but I would definitely come here again for a short break/holiday.

Hello Trippies

I recently spent 3 nights at the Adlerbrau. It's a pretty good hotel in the heart of Gunzenhausen.

The location is fantastic as it is right in the marketplatz. The service was excellent.

Ask for rooms in the new building. They are about 9 weeks old so they are new and wonderful. If you get a balcony you will get a great view of the lake and the sunset.

Please check out my pictures of the room and hotel.

I have one caveat to my review of Adlerbrau. If you are a business traveller needing wifi I can tell you the wifi is horrible. I was down during my whole stay because the wifi was so bad. I also book hotels on the fly using wifi connections and I couldn't book my next hotel from Adlerbrau. It was sooooo frustrating. That is my only gripe about the hotel. I mentioned the bad wifi to front desk many times so I imagine they may fix it in the near future.

One more thing... I did stay at the Park Hotel for 4 days last year and I found Adlerbrau better in most respects. Just the wifi issue at Adlerbrau is an issue for business travelers.

Hope this helps you in your travels.

We booked a room on the groundfloor with a small terrace and access to the garden for our two children. The room and the hotel facilities are spotless, the food is delicious, and generally the hotel is very family and children friendly. It is in a very good location in order to explore the city and the nearby lake on foot or by bicycle.

Have never been to Germany before & went only for my husband to compete in the ‘Challenge Roth’ Ironman. I was really surprised at how beautiful Bavaria is! The most friendly helpful staff & great food, beer & Gunzenhausen has a beautiful village atmosphere! Great spot, great hotel!

The hotel Adler Bräu is located directly on the market square of Gunzenhausen . The entrance is located through the parking lot behind the tavern.
The hotel is set-up in the annex building. The rooms are of good size, nicely decorated in modern design with a comfortable bed, an armchair, and a desk that comes with an impractical stool instead of an office chair. The bathroom is equipped with a shower cabin. Rooms and bathrooms are perfectly clean. W_LAN worked reliably and quickly. The rooms are quiet with views over the Park
A beautiful spa area with a steam bath, a herbal of bio - and Finnish sauna is on the third floor.
Breakfast is served in the Guest House. The buffet is generously garnished with high-quality products. Egg dishes are freshly prepared on request. Traditional dishes are offered in the typical Bavarian brewing room. The food was tasty and the prices fair.
On the paved front of the hotel entrance are sufficient free parking spaces available.
The employees were without exception friendly and attentive. I can recommend the hotel nice I without hesitation.

Very nice hotel. Rooms are clean. Breakfast offer is quite good. A big advantage of the hotel is the restaurant. Food there is really good, depending on the time of the year they offer season specialties - for example chanterelles (Pfeferlingen) - delicious ! I always come back there with pleasure.

We stayed here in August 2014 while supporting our son in the Roth Ironman. Our room was in the building on the High Street, facing the back, and we were delighted with it. Very spacious, spotlessly clean with high quality fittings. There was a balcony with table and chairs, which caught the afternoon sun. Although there was no air con, the large french doors/ windows allowed plenty of air movement. There was a good sized lift up to our floor, which was ideal as my husband was using a wheelchair. (Our room was actually larger than our son's, which was in the new block overlooking the lawns. )
All the staff we came across were very pleasant and helpful; many of them spoke English. ( One had learned Chinese so she could communicate with Chinese visitors!) Breakfasts offered a wide choice of items - early breakfasts (4am!) were laid on for the Ironman gang! Evening meals were substantial and tasty.
Gunzenhausen itself is a delightful little town, with plenty of choice of cafes/ restaurants etc and we were amazed at how cheap things were! The nearby lake has a bathing area, which was IMMACULATE.
Would definitely return to this hotel if in the area again.
