This luxury rural (but within reach of a train station) Tuscany hotel is embedded in the remains of a small medieval village. There's even a tiny, deconsecrated church. Regarding "luxury", note that the staff just isn't large enough to fawn over you all the time, and there isn't an exercise room. (You'll have to settle for signing out a bicycle!)...

Stayed here for a friend's wedding. Stunning property, great views in three of our directions, infinity pool, huge bed, great linens, real air conditioning. Two restaurants, one fine dining and one more casual. This is a destination resort, well worth the price, but surely not cheap.

Everything about this property exudes all we love about Tuscany....the beautiful landscape, friendly people, good food. The property is maintained to perfection and the staff are totally accomodating. It was one of the most beautiful and serene places I have ever been! Easy drive to Siena, Montepulciano, Cortona and other areas.

Locanda dell'Amorosa was our first stop in Tuscany & what a wonderful choice it was. From the minute you walk into the courtyard you realize that you have found something special. The 14th Century property has been tastefully renovated to accommodate the needs of the traveler but still retaining the character of the past. The hotel staff were great &...

We rented a house nearby so didn't actually stay here but we ate lunch here twice and dinner twice. It is a former medieval village, complete with chapel that has been turned into a luxury inn and dining establishment. We toured the rooms which are beautiful. It is not inexpensive but we didn't see or ask the price of more...

We were hosted in a superior room with an imperial super king size bed. The hotel is actually a superb country village of the 14th century, renovated with loving and competent care. Warm reception, attention to details, competent and smiling personnel: all this in a very quiet place thus located in the very heart of a land rich of art,...

Magical property. Fascinating history of the grounds. Spectacular sunrise, watching the sun light up the misty valley. Excellent service and very well maintained. On-site restaurant is wonderful, but we were also given several fantastic recommendations by the concierge/front desk.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The location exudes an atmosphere of true serenity and sweetness and anyone exposed to it will be awestruck. Each room has its own character and design. Rustic furniture of peasant origins is mixed with antique furniture, prints and paintings. Some, that open directly to the outdoors give the sense of having a place of one’s own; others have a relaxing view of the typical Sienese countryside; yet others look out onto the complex’s quadrangle and face the lodgings the peasants at one time inhabited. ... more   less
