Myself and my husband have just got back from a weeks stay at AlvorJardim here's my honest review. Rooms..our room was a lovely studio with a kitchen and great big bathroom, plenty of utensils, hairdryer and some toiletries provided. Wardrobe a little small and no drawers but we managed for the week. My only problem with the room was the long mirror was inside the wardrobe it should have been on a wall near the tv, and also our balcony was small could just fit 2 people on. Our room overlooked the back of the hotel . They had USB and 1 English socket in the room, and a safe which was free to use. The pool area was nice, plenty of sunbeds and shaded areas, the pool was freezing though so we didn't use it. Food and drink at the pool bar was reasonably priced, 5 euro for a toastie and chips . The breakfast was good hot option was bacon, tomatoes, beans, mushroom, sausage and scrambled egg, toast, lots of fruit,cereals, meats, cheeses, breads and pastries. All the staff we met were very friendly and helpful as were the housekeeping our room got cleaned everyday. Location...it was around a 10 minute walk to the centre where the shops and restaurants were, lots of nice places to eat and drink. The lyric bar was good for lunch and an English breakfast. We didn't walk far round Alvor due to my husbands limited mobility so can't comment on the beach or other areas but we enjoyed where we went. Local beers were cheap. We went into portimae one day 6 of us in a taxi cost 11 euro, nice little town. It took just over an hour from the airport to our hotel. There are pubs with entertainment on , the black stove and Michael's bar are 2 we went in and a nice bar called the lounge. If we ever went back to Alvor I would happily stay at Alvor Jardim again. We had a nice week away in Alvor.

This is a lovely small hotel in Alvor, I wouldn't call in luxurious but its clean and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Great location only a few minutes walk to all the bars and restaurants, huge supermarket a couple of minutes walk behind the hotel for all the essentials. Beach is a little further, maybe 10-15 minutes walk but taxi's are readily available. We had a Junior Suite which was very spacious, the bed was extremely comfy, the bedding good quality and plenty of pillows. All the windows have electric shutters which are amazing at blocking out all light at night. Our room faced the road and yes it is quite busy during the day, quietens down at night, however these front facing rooms get the best views and afternoon sun. Lovely powerful, walk in shower, great water pressure. The pool area is very well maintained, all new sunbeds and parasols, no real issues getting a sunbed either. The bar offers a good selection of drinks and the snacks available are tasty and generous portions. The breakfast room is in the basement, so no views while enjoying your morning toast, however its clean, the hot and cold food selection is very good, the staff are attentive and continually replenishing everything. I only had 2 little issues that could elevate the experience further, firstly the quality of the towels in the rooms, they were not great, considering how lovely the bed linen was. Secondly, tea and coffee sachets supplied on arrival, but not refreshed during the week, this is a welcome thing only. In all, this is a great hotel, we would definitely return.

This was our second holiday at this hotel and it did not disappoint. The room was clean and well maintained. The staff are a credit to the hotel being friendly and efficient . The only problem is the lack of storage in the room it needs a unit with drawers. Excellent location a few minutes walk into the centre of Alvor , we had a studio on 2nd floor to rear of hotel , well equipped kitchen with fridge , microwave etc , comfortable beds walk in shower . Rooms are cleaned daily , Breakfast is good plenty of choice . Staff are very friendly and helpful . During our stay it was my wife's birthday and we were surprised when we had a call from reception followed by the staff bringing a small birthday cake with candle and a bottle of bubbly on ice to our room ,which was a lovely surprise and very thoughtful of them . Overall a great stay , no negatives , will definately return here .

When we first arrived we were given a room at the front of hotel above the front door/ reception area overlooking the main road. This was very busy road all day. Any coach, taxi , mini bus arrivals could be heard by us on the balcony . We went to reception and 3 days later they were able to move us . The hotel was recently refurbished and was clean and bright. All furniture was modern. Only problem the wardrobe was to short for dresses. I am 4 foot 10 inches tall and all my dresses were folded at the bottom. This could be sorted by removing the shelf below. Very little storage for a 2 week stay. Staff in all departments were lovely. Breakfast was fine, but in 14 days it was exactly the same every morning. Tea and coffee and kettle available, but not refilled if used. As someone recovering from knee replacement, I found the steps up to reception difficult, it would have been much better if a hand rail was fitted. Disability access has recently been removed. Perfect location for shops , restaurants and bars. Favorite restaurants were Duarte ( steak on sizzling stone) and great lunch at the Lyric , morning coffee at Yacht club. Resort is brilliant, very peaceful. But as stated make sure you book a room suitable for your needs.

Arrived at hotel before midday was told room was not ready until 3 30 of which I've never experienced that as they no what time we are arriving. My wife and I decided to explore the Area and easily found the strip it was straight out of main doors through a car park and straight down, some people turn right down to round about then left but there is no need to climb a little steep bank . After checking in we where giving keys to room which was 301 and situated on side of building room was clean with kettle and hairdryer and also safe. We had sun on balcony all afternoon until it went down. Breakfast was nice and something for all from 8am until 10.30 Sunloungers do need replacing or a topper put on them as not good. Pool I thought was good enough and water and temperature was tested . The beach down at front is fantastic we used the sun beds outside the surf restaurant only 15 euro for 2 for all day . The resort is nice and plenty restaurants to eat in ,very relaxing. We will go back to Alvor and also stay in same hotel ,staff very pleasant. We only had a short stay and we left at 7am so missed breakfast apparently if you ask them on day before your leaving they will put something up for you but really they should know.

We have just spent a week here, and enjoyed everything about the hotel. * It is spotlessly clean everywhere; rooms serviced daily, to an exceptional standard, with fresh linen and towels. * We stayed B&B - exceptional value for money- worth every penny. We liked the breakfast room- some reviews imply that it’s an unwelcoming space - but we didn’t find that. Hot breakfast offerings- kept replenished and very well presented and again spotlessly clean and high standards observed. Continental options and good selection of bread and pastries. Nice coffees and fresh juices. A huge thank you to the team in the breakfast room- super polite, friendly and efficient- true service with a smile - EVERY morning (apologies- we didn’t get your names). * Reception team - very welcoming and friendly, again always service with a smile. Sasha helped us get a taxi to a restaurant and always had a smile on her face - she is a credit to the hotel as “front of house “. *We stayed in room 306 - has a balcony facing the back of the hotel overlooking the pool. Very comfortable self catering- enough for light lunch preparation. Bathroom excellent. Beds comfortable. Decor clean, fresh, well coordinated and modern design. Went with jet2 and air con/safe included in price and very effective keeping us warm this time of year! Room is good size for a couple. The only negative is the lack of English TV channels- wouldn’t usually be a problem for us - but we had inclement weather and would have given us a distraction in our room for “bad weather days “. * fantastic location- walk through car park opposite hotel and you’ll find all the bars, restaurants and shops within 5mins. The boardwalk is amazing and the beaches/coastal walks are spectacular. Alvor is a beautiful place and we will definitely return in the warmer months to see it in all its glory. * This will definitely be our hotel of choice on our return- due to the welcoming staff, high standards of hygiene, amenities and locality - thank you to the whole team for a lovely stay

We stayed at the Alvor Jardim with Jet2 Holidays. First hats off to them they were excellent as always. The hotel is exactly as described. To add, it’s spotless, the staff are lovely and we had a fantastic holiday. What we loved was the room. A studio, room 306. It was a real home from home, comfy beds, big walk in powerful shower, kitchen facilities including fridge with small freezer compartment, two electric cooking rings, electric kettle and a microwave with grill facility. Plenty of crockery and cutlery including a sharp bread knife. There’s a small table with two chairs. Outside the balcony looks over towards Mount Foia and has a table and two chairs also. The electric shutters kept out the early morning sun and once opened, the room was flooded with sunlight and beautiful blue skies. The pool area is again spotless and caught the sun most of the day. The hotel is five minutes walk from the centre of Alvor but seemed miles away in terms of how peaceful it is around the area. Saying that, Alvor was wonderful, not too busy but enough folk around to give it atmosphere. We got chance to see the fabulous view from an upper floor bedroom that faces the afternoon and evening sun, the village and the estuary. We recommend these if you do not wish to have catering facilities. Sadly for us having clarified with staff no room with catering facilities offer that. One other point we deliberately asked about was our room location as any lower it’s difficult to see beyond only the car park and the buildings directly opposite. The staff responded promptly to my email addressed to alvorjardim@aguahotels.pt and we were allocated a third floor room. There is a lift. Breakfast consists of fresh fruit including pineapple, melon, kiwi fruit, oranges all freshly prepared. Cold meats, cheese, scrambled eggs, cooked tomatoes, small sausage, smoked local bacon. Various breads are on offer, pastries. Coffee, tea and juice. In short, it was excellent, every morning we were met with warm, cheerful staff happy to help. In conclusion, a long review but well worth taking the time. Thanks again to Jet2 and the Alvor Agua Jardim for a fabulous holiday.

Me and my partner Booked as a package deal on jet2 easily the best place we have ever stayed. Perfect location 7 min walk from the prettiest beach we have ever been to and 5 min walk from the strip of every type of cuisine you could ask for. Amazing service, the staff were incredibly helpful with getting us information for busses and directions to supermarkets. The room was incredible, ignore every single bad review on here, it was so clean, everything you could need to cook a meal, comfy bedding gorgeous view from balcony and despite the fact that I have the biggest travel anxiety I felt incredibly safe, to top it all of the breakfast was amazing with a large display of options.

The standard rooms are small. I would recommend you upgrade if you want a decent size room. The balcony on our standard room was also small. The hotel is a reasonable price but you get what you pay for. It’s a bit like a motel to be honest.
There are more places to choose from in the Alvor area.
