Smiley greeting upon arrival set the tone for my 4 night stay. The staff were really helpful and friendly and ready to help with booking taxi's etc. The room was spotless and well proportioned (We had a room with a lateral sea view) and cleaned daily by friendly housekeeping staff. A well stocked bar selling all the favourites including a cocktail of the day. Beautifully clean and well furnished pool area. Breakfast was really nice offering a good selection of cold meats, cheeses, pastries etc as well as sausage bacon eggs etc. The sausage and bacon aren't what Brits are used to and are an acquired taste. I was really pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Its extremely modern, clean, great amenities for the price, food was really good quality at the restaurant (not very cheap but worth the price), staff friendly and helpful and also the rooms were spacious. We stayed in a studio room which had a fridge freezer, dishwasher, sink, two ring cooker and microwave/grill and was also equipped which plenty of different glasses, bowls, plates and any utensils you would need. Pool area was spotless and they provide you with towels free of charge. 2 mins walk from the boardwalk to the beach and a 10-15min stroll to Alvor town. We didn't need to use taxis at all over there. Would definitely recommend

We've stayed here on several occasions before when it was called the Alvor Luna Bay. It's been taken over by the Wyndham group. It's had a complete refurbishment which hasn't really changed it much, just freshened it up. The staff all very helpful and friendly.
We had a lovely sea view room with a balcony on the 7th floor. The only weird thing was all wardrobes were gone in the rooms and we had was what I would describe as a bookcase and a hanging rail with 4 coat hangers! Totally inadequate for a 10 day stay. No drawers at all. What they described as a fridge was in fact an empty mini bar that a large bottle didn't fit in. So, your underwear was on display for all the cleaners to see! Luckily, I had bought a pack of 20 fold up hangers and a trousers hanger from Temu having read a previous review. This which worked out well. You would also need to take a decent stand-up mirror with you as I couldn't see to blow dry my hair at the dressing table. The TV was fixed to the wall where you would expect a mirror to be. I ended up using the reflection from the TV to do my hair. There was a long mirror in the room nowhere near an electric socket. There were decent make up mirrors in the bathroom. We did have an interesting conversation with one of the managers when we checked in and he said as former clients I will warn you your room may not be what you are expecting, we have had complaints from former Luna Bay clients.
We were quite happy with our room all in all for the amount of time we spent in it. Nice comfy beds. We would stay again as it's a 5 minute walk to the beach and 10-15 into town where you are spoilt for choice for lovely restaurants to eat in.

We are looking to book this hotel for our annual holiday. Having stayed at this hotel when it was the Alvor Luna Bay I never had a problem parking and charging my mobility scooter. The Wyndham Hotel boasts a comprehensive list of amenities for disable people, but they will not allow a disable person to charge their scooter. If they wish I am willing to pay for this service. Has anyone else come across this problem.

I like the hotel but it’s a shame that a lot of the staff are rude. Today I wanted to have a sandwich by my bed at the pool. I was told I can only have a drink. Absolutely ridiculous. I’m not a child yet was spoken to like one, and did not appreciate that. This was from a staff member on the till and lunch time on 24th August. I’m on my holiday and I’m a paying customer and because of that, they will not get another penny from me in the bar. Have a word with your staff please.
Cleaning people and useless too. You need to ask for toilet rolls to be replaced, you only get one dishwasher tablet for the week so bring some if in a room with a kitchen.

We are back from a two week stay in the Wydham residence Alvor. It was myself, my husband and 5 month old baby. The holiday was very modern, fresh and clean. There is a small downside which would stop me from staying for longer periods than a night or two and it’s the wardrobe space or lack of. A rail in the room is not sufficient for a two week stay. The kitchenette in our room was handy - we booked because of this. We needed an area to prepare baby formula and sterilise regularly. The pool area is nice however it’s very quiet - you can hear a pin drop. The kids area was often fully reserved by adults which made it hard with the baby as nowhere else provided us with the shade we needed. The staff seemed very friendly and the food from the pool bar/restaurant was excellent along with their drinks.

Stayed in Alvor many times at various hotels, including what was the Luna Alvor Bay and we must say the Wyndham offered us everything we required and needed. Renovated to a good standard, could not fault the rooms, kitchen area and bathrom. We were in a Sea View Room (self catering), wonderful views and a large balcony. Very large and comfortable bed and lovely walk-in shower with shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided, together with hand wash and body lotion.
Check-in and check-out was easy and quick. The food and drinks were very good and reasonably priced. The dining area and bar area have been renovated in a contemporary style and were very pleasant and comfortable.
The pool area is immaculate and there are plenty of sun loungers. What helps to make this hotel special, apart from being ideally situated near the beach and within a 10 minute walk into the town are the staff from Housekeeping to Reception to Bar and Restaurant staff who are all friendly, welcoming and professional. The night security staff also deserve a mention.
Hopefully we will be returning in 2025.

We have just spent 5 nights at this hotel in a studio apartment with breakfast. The hotel is new, modern, bright and very welcoming. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The breakfast is good and the ambience is lovely. The location with secure free parking is excellent being easy walking distance of the town and board walk. Our apartment was on the 11th floor and had wonderful views of the sea and harbour. Based on our experience here, we would certainly look out for the Wyndham chain elsewhere.

Spotlessly clean, excellent location, lovely staff. We asked for a quiet room & got this. We had wonderful views over the beaches. Good sized bathroom, if not much storage room. Good shower, hairdryer & a mirror that didn't fog up!. Very comfortable large bed with spotless linen. Room cleaned daily. Fridge, coffee maker, microwave, 2ring hob, kettle, safe & TV with a few English channels. Plenty cutlery & adequate crockery though if you like a decent cuppa bring a mug! We were disappointed with the storage which consists of an open clothes rail next to the cooker & a couple of open shelves. Not very private. The pool area is lovely with plenty of beds available. Huge towels are supplied. Waiter service was available with Riu being very efficient. We had lunch in the restaurant one day which was delicious & fresh with excellent service. Breakfast is €15/day (€12 if you book in for your entire stay) & is serve yourself. The barman, Eduard, is extremely efficient The bar coffee is excellent. Cleaning staff were friendly & thorough. Check in/out was easy & fast. A short walk from the beach & town, the Wyndam is a great choice.

They don't have an ironing board in the room but I'm fairness when I asked for one it was dropped up straight away. Safety deposit box is free and works with electronic code. Enjoy beautiful Alvor
