The apartments are great, spacious, and beautifully decorated on a minimalist style but with everything that you need. Location brilliant next to shops and a short distance from the beach. Amazing for staying with family and friends.
Amazing swimming pool!
The only down: maids was supposed to come one day during our stay but never did.
Also not everyone at reception seems helpful, there was a guy sitting on the chair while we wanted to check out and never come to ask if you needed anything as his colleague was on the phone. Not a good impression.
The shower curtain was very dirty.
Also never mentioned on the booking about extra pay (tourist fee) .
Overall the place is really good and fantastic for families with kids.

The Dunas apartments have never disappointed and we will be returning in future. This time our apartment was huge, very bright, well furnished and very well appointed. Our main room had air conditioning but not the bedroom, this wasn’t important in September but may be at other times of the year. The reception staff are always extremely helpful. Arriving early, we didn’t expect our appartment to be ready but the clerk (Arianna?) did her best and we were amazed to be accommodated so quickly.
The pool area is great and the staff at the pool, particularly Santos, are so very friendly and helpful. There are plenty of sunbeds with mattresses and parasols (all free of charge) and no matter what time of day, there was always lots of room.
The Dunas is well situated around 2 squares which are full of amenities, restaurants, bars, shop, and even a laundrette and a 5-10 minute stroll will take you into a town packed with every amenity.

loved the apartments which were fully equipped with everything one could want. A great supply of towels etc, while the apartments are cleaned once a week they were cleaned very well. the apartments have one of the best pool areas we have ever seen.
the apartments are located only minutes from the harbour, beach and the town area.
there is a very large outside area with restaurants and shops.
only little suggestion is reception should be open longer especially lunch time.

I made a booking through this property, with free cancellation. However, upon booking, the rate suddenly became non-refundable and the property is unwilling to assist me.
I am very disappointed as I am sure this is a great property, but I would be very careful when booking with them.

Very very large apartment. Beautiful first impression: very bright, white and blue. Large living area with equipped kitchen, dining table, double sofa bed with coffee table and 2 armchairs. Large bedroom. Large bathroom. Everything very clean and functional. There are safe, iron and ironing board, toaster, microwave, kettle, TV, air conditioning in the living room. Very bright. Cleaning and linen change mid-week. Very courteous and helpful staff. Very large, clean swimming pool, open many hours a day with staff for sunbeds. Excellent location: shops, supermarket, restaurants, beach and center of Alvor within walking distance. Excellent value for money. Highly recommended

Prison camp like swimming pool and aggressive rude pool staff .
Literally can’t move without being watched in the place now . We have been coming for 17 years . 2 new pool staff spoilt experience meaning surrounding restaurants and bars on complex lose our business as we won’t use the pool.
Shouting at me for not taking empty water bottles to bin when I was still lay on sun lounger - when it would be taken away at end of day by our group.
Shouting at my children for not asking to use a lilo which is in a pile of inflatables , for everyone to use . Shouted at my child for not waiting at the gate to enter pool and marched him back to stairs. Only nice to Portuguese who give them cash for entry when not staying in complex . Dunas is a struggling complex and you should not alienate loyal customers . We sadly won’t be back here . But you won’t spoil our trip we will go the beautiful beach instead.

We stayed at a Dunas do Alvor apartment from Torralvor. We had a 1 bedroom apartment that slept 4. It was a large apartment and well equipped. Large fridge freezer, microwave 4 electric hobs, kettle, coffee pod machine, TV, dining table, 2 lounge chairs and coffee table. It even had a free Safe, washing machine, iron and ironing board.
Aircon was the only issue. Kept the main room cold but did not reach the bedroom so this was warm so had to have window open. Needed separate aircon for bedroom. Cleaned / towels once a week.
The pool is excellent, very large the pictures don’t do it justice. Both the pool attendants are excellent and provide you with clean mattresses and umbrellas.
2 nice bars and a lovely restraint Tesouros sell good value food and cheap coffee and beer. Intermarché is 2 minutes walk and lots of nice restaurants nearby. 5-7 minute walk to beach and boardwalk 5 minute walk to the harbour area / old town. Would definitely return.

I’m writing this review on the hope it might be useful to first timers, like us. The apartment itself is very basic and sparsely decorated- whilst very spacious with everything you would need. Exceptionally clean. Balcony very small and overlooking the road. Windows need replacing as very noisy from the road. Pool is excellent, only drawback is the amount of rules. Location is spot on. So close to everything, making for a very relaxing holiday.

Stayed for a week recently - couldn't fault the place. Staff were friendly, check in and out - no issues. Apartment was spacious and spotless! Great location - 5 mins to beach and to centre. Bars on complex shut at 12 so no issues with noise

Stayed in a private rental on this complex for one week. There are a number of small bars and restaurants here, which is really convenient, would recommend Picnic bar if you like your cocktails.
Pool area is really clean and spacious and has no issues with pool cleanliness. Attendants do ensure rules are stuck to regarding inflatables use, etc.
Only gripe is you are warned that if you leave your sunbeds and somebody comes who wants one when none are available, they will remove your towels and give them away. I understand this when you see people putting towels out of a morning and then not turning up until the afternoon blocking them off, but this rule applies even if you want to go get some lunch for an hour, surely there has to be some flexibility for this?

If you are staying at the complex it is 2 euros pp per day. However if you are not staying at the complex then its 10 euros pp per day.
My experience wasn't the best the apartment we had was very run down and nobody was there to met us or knew about our booking.
