Detailed Reviews
Great little hotel, neatly situated ten minute walk from beach or centre. Really friendly staff, spotless, room was cleaned daily, comfortable bed, quiet location and great value for money. Not luxurious but a great base for a week’s stay in Alvor where you can spend the money you’ve saved on some of the fantastic food available. Make sure you visit the restaurant downstairs, at least once.

Been going to Alvor for 40 years but this was our 1st visit for the last 8 years and our 1st time we have stayed here,
Great location in the village of Alvor our room was compact but very functional we had flat screen tv balcony fridge kettle, the whole room was very clean maid came in every day except Sunday there is also a safe in the room at no extra charge,
I would stay here if I ever return to Alvor however that is unlikely due to the main area of Alvor is now just a bar street great if that is what you like but not for us anymore the village we discovered 40 years ago has now long disappeared.

I was staying at this hotel for one week this month. The room was very affordable but still really good. I had a bathroom with a bathtub, a little fridge to store food in, a balcony with a great view, tv, air conditioner and of course the most important thing: free WiFi which also worked really well. The room was clean and nice to stay at. The location is fantastic; everything you need is near. There was also an opportunity to use bike for free. Besides the room, I must say that the most lovely thing was the staff. I have never felt so heart-warming welcome to any hotel before this visit. I can totally recommend this place to everyone!

Overall, it's good. It's in a great location, the shower is good, and the beds are quite comfortable. The cons: It was a very small room; I kept hitting my ankles on the bed corner to walk around the room. Lots of door banging in the mornings. Saturday night, there is a concert close by that ends at 1. am. On the day of checkout, housekeeping knocked and immediately opened our door an hour before checkout, ensuring we knew what time checkout was. We weren't asked if we enjoyed our stay, but the lady at reception was quite pleasant. It's good for the price.

We stayed at this hotel Sept 2016, and we chose it for its price and central location; just a couple of minutes walk into the town. Alvor itself is a lovely small town on the banks of an estuary, there's a fantastic beach 10-15 mins walk along the wooden boardwalk. Largos is a 30 mins bus ride away - well worth a visit. Ok, so the hotel doesn't have a pool (this is reflected in the price), but with the beach so close, who needs one! The hotel staff (especially Jean-Paul) were very friendly and helpful, and the comfort room we had - with a small balcony, fridge, double bed and en-suite bathroom- was perfect for our needs. The room and bed were comfortable and clean.
This hotel at 35 euros per night offers fantastic value for money (there's even complementary use of their bicycles). There is also a restaurant and bar attached to the hotel. We will definitely be using this hotel again (probably quite regularly if we can).
One mistake we made, was using Booking.com to book the hotel, they pumped the price up to a whopping 69 euros per night. What a ripoff! This is no reflection on this lovely hotel- just the greedy profiteering of Booking.com. Always book direct with the hotel and get a great price (at 35 euros per night for a 'comfort' room which has a fridge, kettle, coffee cups and glasses), a super service and a lovely stay. We'll be back.

Only just back from a 3 day break in Alvor and this was excellent for our needs.Have been going to Alvor for nearly 15 yrs and this place is as good as a lot of apartments we have stayed in.We were given a twin room with a balcony. The room also had a nice bathroom/plenty of wardrobe space and drawer space. It had a kettle with cups and glasses with fridge. It is very central to town and beach. It does not have a pool but didnt bother us.We were met on arrival by Martha who was very pleasant and informed us about keys and how to enter and exit when no one on reception. We would certainly stay again if on a short vacation.

I had booked elsewhere but managed to change to this place at the last minute. I am very glad I did. This is a basic hotel but very clean and right in the centre of town. You are a couple of streets back from the action so it's not mad noisy . The town is a wonderful place with charm. The people are friendly and warm and it is such good value for money. I was met on arrival by a lovely girl who explained everything to me and gave me a map. So easy to get around the town but it is a bit hilly so if you have difficulties walking then maybe not for you. I have fallen in love with Alvor and would definitely return to the Hospederia Bouganvilia. It has all you need as a base to explore the area. 10/10 !!

Stayed here for 7 nights (wish it could have been longer) in October. Small but spotless room with veranda and a regular supply of clean towels. Sadly we didn't get an opportunity to try the restaurant but witnessed the daily delivery of fresh produce and large number of customers. The location was perfect for all amenities on offer in Alvor. Will definitely stay here again, thank you to the wonderful staff.

We stayed in Hospedaria Buganvilia for 5 nights early in September. Our room was classic double bed. It is very basic. Dont expect any pool, gym, private parking. But it suited us perfectly well. We came to Alvor for a wedding, so I knew wed be out most of the time. Central location made it easy to get to all the pubs and restaurants and ,crawling, back was easy and safe. It is super clean, bed was comfy, plenty of pillows and towels. It says towels would be changed once in 3 nights. Well, we got fresh 3 times out of 5 and if something needed to be changed they were very obliging. The shower was powerful and soap and sampoos were provided. Make sure to contact them before you arrive and book a taxi with them (55euro up to 4 people). Grabbing a taxi from the airport will be twice as much. The restaurant on the ground floor is a must to visit ( the best food and service in Alvor)
All in all very happy with our choice of the hotel. Aircon, minifridge, small balcony were lovely. Highly recommend to couples and groups who come for active breaks.

The staff could not have been more accommodating or friendly. Joao was absolutely excellent and if you are looking for a budget hotel I highly recommend this. The restaurant next door is one of the best in Alvor too.

Front facing over the restaurant as far as I was concerned. Street was quite outside in the morning s
Hi there. I don't know if this is too late but there is a fridge, but no pool. It's a great no frills hotel. We are going back in August for the third time.
Hope you get sorted.
