Christina and Family are very helpful, relaxed family run bed and breakfast. We had full access to the large kitchen, fridge, microwave etc Rustic.Christina makes a huge effort to look after her guests. Plumbing issue with our shower drain which was resolved as soon as we highlighted it, Overall very happy with accommodation, you get what you pay for.

We stayed one night here and we’re so sorry to have to leave ! Cristina and all the staff were so welcoming, kind and generous in offering all they could to help us feel comfortable and “ at home “ . Room was spacious and we loved the decor . Breakfast offered us a great choice of breads , jams , cold meats , yogurts , fresh juice , tea and coffee and I particularly loved Cristinas homemade apricot cake , delicious! We will definitely return to the Ardemar and will highly recommend it to all we know ! Thank you Cristina and staff !

very comfy stay at this lovely accommodation. We were in their studio apartments with front balcony and large rear terrace just a minute or two away from the main apartments. Plenty of hot water, more than big enough for the two of us. Extra bedding available if it became chilly on an evening (it wasnt). Helped us with our cases when we arrived and drove us from the hotel to the studio. Loved our stay there.

I have stayed 6 days (5 nights€. I can describe the establishment as lousy because: 1/Dirty everywhere 2/ No cleaning 3/Comfort 0 4/ Non-existent service. Dirt invades the rooms, stairs, disgustingly dirty kitchen and patio alike, along with cozy cleaning supplies, etc. Room with shower in which you can not move, towels 20 years old and bed with very uncomfortable mattress without box spring (well, with a chipboard). Kitchen pringosa, tresillo with a layer of dirt....A boy cleaned with a mop with three filaments (from the period of the 19th century) that rumbled between his hands and then removed the hairs with them, and all this next to the kitchen... I am surprised by so many positive reviews, it gives food for thought. It really is a Pension for which no more than €10 should be asked, if someone is brave to reside in it. Sad experience. (I made the Reservation by booking).

Just at the end of our three night stay at this guesthouse and it was absolutely perfect for us. The host Guga is friendly and helpful , the room itself is a nice size with bath , shower , comfortable double bed and was spotless clean and cleaned daily. The price was very reasonable and we will definitely stay here again

I stayed in Alvor Ar de Mar for 7 nights. It is a family owned guesthouse. Christina and her family were so welcoming. The guesthouse is beautiful, well designed, comfortable and extremely clean. Breakfast included traditional Portuguese food and delicious deserts.
I had a large room on the top with a spacious balcony with sea views. Location was perfect. It was away from the main strip so you could not hear any noise from local pubs. But guesthouse only 2 minute walk to all restaurants and just a 5 minute walk to the beach. Absolutely perfect location.
I loved my stay here and have already booked again for next year. I would highly recommend this guesthouse.

The place is designed with a lot of love for every detail. Christina - the owner - will serve breakfast with homemade jam, organic bread, butter from the Azoren, fruits of her own garden... It is just a wonderful place to stay!

All the reviews tell you about how sweet this place is and it has some nice points, the staff are lovely, its clean and location is good but very noisy!
I wanted to highlight a couple of areas I felt they could improve things. This is not to put you off but to make sure what to expect. These may seem minor but i feel valid.
1. It is neither a guesthouse or a hotel it sort of falls between the two, the rooms are like a hotel but in a sort of lacking in hotel amenities. 2. One towel for a weeks stay is not enough. 3. No fresh bedding over a week is poor, a midweek change should be standard. 4. Breakfast is included but whilst looks quirky was without content. It was no more than bread a toaster and various toppings. The fresh orange juice was amazing. If they had some eggs or something a bit more substantial it would have been an improvement. 5. The room was short of some modern comforts, it would have benefited from having a refrigerator, maybe a TV or an entertainment centre. What would have been perfect was a kitchenette with a microwave a sink etc. 6. Location, now you cannot change this but it is it's best and worst thing!!! Best because you are right in the centre of Alvor as we wanted, worse because of the noise of being in the centre of Alvor. 7. Noise, I could not believe the noise other guests would make at all hours of the night when they came in wearing what sounded like rigger boots, caterwauling at the top of their voices when it was 2 in the morning. It is always a potential problem when you are on the cheapside you will attract ............. need I say!
In summary if you want a youth hostel type holiday, this is the place for you, enjoy!

The hotel has very conviniet location in the middle of the city of Alvor. It's only 5 minutes walk to the nearest shop and all the restaurants are just around the corner. Our room (duoble room with bathrom) was really nice and had a small balcony. The landlady - Cristina - is an incredibly nice person. She was always very helpful and chatty, she recommended us a lot of nice places to visit and restaurants where we could taste the local cuisine. She cares a lot about a good atmosphere in the hotel and between the guests. The breakfast (and cake for dessert) was everyday a little bit different and made by Cristina herself. It's a really lovely place to stay and I really recommend it!
