With one more day till we leave, this has been an enjoyable visit. Greeted by John, the proud owner, we were taken on a tour of his lovingly restored establishment. Our room had the luxury of a veranda just covered in flowers and two loungers for a personal spot to top up your tan or read in the cooler evening...

We only had one night here and how we wish we could have stayed longer. John and Ana were very friendly and helpful - they recommended a local Portuguese restaurant which turned out to be our favorite meal of our whole trip to Portugal (including a few nights in Lisbon). You can grab a glass of wine at the self...

This is a charming, rustic and very friendly place to stay. A big thank you to John and Ana for making it an amazing holiday. Our room was huge with big windows with high ceilings and big windows which made it light and bright. Every day John arrived at breakfast to ask if there was any help he could give...

This is a charming B&B just outside Portimao. There are 9 rooms, all different, in various corners of this 19th Century townhouse. You can see the pictures for yourself and read the wonderful reviews that tempted us to book our short holiday here. What you can't get from the pictures is the superb level of hospitality offered here. My partner...

Beautiful old Portuguese style house with an amazing patio with portuguese style stones and swimming pool! Very well impressed as from the exterior you cannot tell the beauty you will find inside! This B&B is located in a small fishing village were you can mingle with the locals and see what their life truly is.. You need to have a...

An Ideal base for exploring the Western Algarve. Even the west coast is no more than an hour 's drive away. The hotel is situated in a small inland village approximately ten minutes drive from nearest beach. In my view a car is essential. John is a very welcoming host and is happy to give advice on places to visit...

We were so pleased to come back to Rio Arade Manor House. Warm welcome from John and Carlos as usual and Paula who we hadnt met on previous visits. Lovely bright, comfortable room opening onto an elevated back terrace - the colour of the Bouganvillia and the Algarvian white, blue and yellow of the house make it a delight to...

Can't say enough about our 2 days here. It was a nice change from the hotel we had stayed in previously. Very small and intimate. Carlos picked us up at the bus station and showed us around. We felt right at home there and were treated royally! The area is quaint and again Carlos told us where to go and...

We are now on our last day at the Rio Arade. This is such a pleasant and peaceful place to return to after a day of touring, beaching and exploring. A dip in the pool or a drink in the spacious garden/patio is a great way to end the day. A great way to begin the day is a coffee...
