We did not stay the night here but ate twice in the restaurant which is open on Fridays and Saturdays to non-residents. There was true excellence here: superb grilled veal sirloin was a highlight, as were the peppers filled with duck for starters. Almond soup was very tasty. Venison was accompanied by a rather heavy and unconvincing sauce, however, and...

Stayed here in June and fell in love with the place. From the main street, it is an unassuming looking building, but when you enter you find yourself in a beautifully furnished rustic ambiance. The hotel only has 5 rooms, and each is individually furnished with antiques sourced by Luis, the owner. You feel as if you are a guest...

A truly wonderful hideaway. It's a calm and good atmosphere - in the village of Gaucin, its neighboring villages, the area around and especially at La Fructuosa. The food is also great, most of all the friday & saturday dinner. Also, the hospitality of Jesus and Luis was impeccable, as were the smiles on the faces of all the rest...

Stayed for a couple of nights in June 2011. It is a nice hotel in the centre of town, with fantastic views (and if you have a room without a view, there is a lovely roof terrace). The room was decent - we had a twin room on the second floor, and it had everything you need - but nothing...

Hi - I had a lovely meal out in Gaucin back in March and would recommend La Fructuosa's restaurant to anyone staying in the village. The honey and goats cheese starter was utterly gorg, and a real indulgence, as was the lamb. Anyway - in a village of very nice tapas restaurants, this is definitely a cut above and worth...

We began our 13 days in Spain with 3 nights at La Fructuosa, in the small Pueblo Blanco of Gaucin. At the end of our trip, I wished we had stayed there the whole time! The owner, Luis, was friendly, gracious, very accommodating, and fun. The other staff were also very helpful. La Fructuosa is difficult to describe in words....

Three reasons to stay at La Fructosa or the adjacent La Terraza: 1. Location. Gaucin is a beautiful and remote mountaintop blanco pueblo 30 minutes from the beach, with views of Gibraltar and, on a clear day, Morocco. If you want an authentic Andalucian get-away, go there. Gaucin is a bit of a haven for British travelers, and the result...

I found this hotel in the English weekly, "The Week" and they described it the same as I did above. Gaucin is a short drive from the heaving crowds down on the Costa Del Sol and is on the road between Casares and Ronda. Just one of those little Spanish white washed villages that tumbles down the side of the...

We literally fell over this place en route to Ronda as we were desperate for something to eat at Sunday lunchtime. The owner Jesus has a lovely gentle manner and even though we were only guests in the restaurant, he was willing to spend quite some time with us showing us the rooms and giving us an insight into this...

My partner and I stayed at the Fructosa for five nights before our wedding at neighbouring hotel, Hacienda La Herriza. The owner Luis was amazing, offering advice on where to go, last minute details for the wedding, where guests could eat out, places to visit etc. He went above and beyond in helpfulness. The room was spacious and clean. Our...
