The Aguas de Ibiza Grand Luxe Hotel has received a variety of feedback from guests. While the prime location is consistently lauded for its convenience to local attractions, the rooms have been a point of contention, with numerous reports of unpleasant odors and cleanliness issues. Although the hotel's atmosphere is often described as calming, the persistent loud music has been a detractor for some.
In terms of amenities, the spa and breakfast receive praise, but the pool and service inconsistencies leave some guests wanting more. Many reviewers feel that the value proposition is lacking, as high prices do not always equate to a 5-star experience.

We have just had a 5 day stay at the hotel. After reading the negative reviews we were a little anxious. However we needn’t have worried. Most of their concerns seemed unfounded to us. Our room was superb - a premium room. The maid service was excellent & we did not have any unpleasant smells in the room. All the staff were always helpful, polite & friendly. There are a few areas which we agree could do with some TLC - the downstairs pool area, some of the parasols are ready to be replaced & generally does look slightly tired. The towels were rolled and on the beds by 9am most mornings and there was always an abundance of clean towels at all times for you to change. The pool bar staff were very good & a special shout out to Adolphi who made a point of remembering everyone’s names & your orders. The negative for us was that it appeared overly expensive for refreshments - we chose to go out for breakfast into the marina every morning as at €30 per person @ the hotel we felt nothing could really justify that price! I used the spa for the Lumi Lumi massage - it was absolutely incredible & well worth the €170’s & Natalia was wonderful - I would definitely recommend a visit. At checkout there were a few charges on our bill that were incorrect- one at over €400 which was quickly removed & extra charges for the mini bar which were also wrong, which was disappointing! All in all a fabulous hotel & we would probably return in the future.

We stayed at Aguas for our baby moon, a last drop of luxury before becoming parents. What a treat!
The hotel was recommended to us by a friend who raves about how chilled yet perfect it was and boy was she right.
We checked in early and although our room wasn’t ready we were able to access all the facilities and make use of the adults only pool upstairs. When we did access our room it was beautiful. Only on floor one but still peaceful and quiet despite being just above the pool area. Our room was cleaned every day and fresh water provided. We had an issue with air con which was dealt with swiftly.
The location was perfect for us, close enough to Santa Eulària to be able to walk to restaurants, food and the beach. Far enough away to be quiet and relaxing. Concierge were helpful in identifying and booking a hire car for the week which was delivered to the hotel with no hassle (free parking outside too). The district itself is within a 20-30min drive to Ibiza old town and San Antonio so perfect if you want to explore the island.
Breakfast was fab, plenty choice at the buffet, plus a menu to order specially prepared items. I was also able to simply order exactly what I wanted despite not being on the menu. All requests were no hassle, for example wanting to take some juice away after breakfast or having a coffee to go.
The spa facilities are a must try. We had access each day as part of our package and what was on offer was just wonderful. Plenty variety and so clean. We had a massage whilst there and this was just perfect too.
We would certainly return as there an option, for families, with there being an adults only section on the roof. So the best of both worlds.
The staff throughout our stay were polite, interested in us and made conversation, as well as remembering what we had discussed previously.
I would recommend this hotel to all as a little treat of luxury.

We have just returned from our second stay at this wonderful hotel. It has become one of our favourites and we will be regular visitors when we want a burst of sunshine, rest and relaxation in peaceful surroundings. The staff at this hotel go above and beyond to make guests feel welcome with champagne at check in and they are always smiling. The hotel has a zen like atmosphere and there are plenty of places to sunbathe or sit in the shade both at the poolside, where sun beds are well spaced, and in the garden areas. The kiddies pool is separate from the main pool in the garden area.We had a corner room which had a wrap around balcony with two sun beds and a table and chairs. It was very spacious, light and scrupulously clean. Everything was provided for our comfort, bathrobes, slippers and quality toiletries.Bottles of water were provided every night. Breakfast offers an amazing choice of healthy food both in the buffet and with options from the kitchen. My husband had a glass of champagne every morning! The restaurant near the pool likewise provides excellent options during the day. The fifth floor roof top bar and pool is a great place for evening drinks and gives a spectacular view of the surrounding area. The hotel is a five minute walk from the harbour with a great choice of bars and restaurants. In May,which is when we go, Santa Eulalia is not too busy and we’ve always had temperatures in the mid twenties. There is free use of the spa, also. Sol,the guest services manageress, needs a special mention for her friendliness and she makes time for everyone making sure their stay is special.

To start with the positives...... Great location, walking distance to restaurants and shops. Superb spa area with welcoming staff....reservations to follow. Breakfast, good on the whole, but a long wait to order cooked meal with ready cooked food for self serve - a poor standard, particularly the strange, leathery bacon and dry, tastless scrambled egg. Negatives.....everything hugely overpriced, food, drinks ....definitely not 5* or value for money throughout. Monotonous, loud, irritating piped music in every area....not conducive to relaxation. The huge massage spa is a joy to use but in need of maintenance, tiles missing, ugly grouting and, no handrail for entering and exiting. The steam and hamman areas out of order. A good sauna and plunge pool with great temperature but, very dangerous for entering and exiting, with no hand rail. Reception staff - attitude variable. from welcoming and helpful, to disinterest and indiferrence. Room servicing hit and miss with inconsistent supplies. Slow lifts, one out of order. This hotel does not offer a 5* standard, is poor value and we would not return.

We have just spent four nights staying at the Agues. I am surprised that the hotel is part of the small luxury hotels as having stayed in several other properties…this falls below expectations. Bedroom - our bedroom constantly smelled of sewage, we asked housekeeping and they informed us to run the taps but unfortunately once we were out of the room on return it smelled really bad. We were unable to control the air conditioning in the room and on several occasions did not seem to be working efficiently. Housekeeping was really poor: we were provided with two 330 ml water bottles per day for three people. Our towels were often not changed and when our bedding was changed there seemed to be the remnants of other guests hair…..
Food- breakfast was definitely a plus, the options were plentiful to suit all dietary needs and whilst the service was slow the quality of the food made up for it. After breakfast quality seems to just disappear, lunch and dinner was overpriced and low quality. I was served a martini in a pint glass and was snapped at by the barman when I asked if I could have an actual martini. Food delivered was often incorrect and service was slow.
Spa- the spa was well run and massage a were ok, however, there is a strong smell of mould in the changing rooms and generally the spa could do with some TLC.
This really isn’t a luxury hotel… staff generally treat you like an inconvenience (with the exception of concierge), management aren’t at all visible and whilst the facilities are good customer service is what would make you come back. Go spend your euros somewhere else this place isn’t worth the high price point.

Initial experience was just bad, arrived at 4:30pm, check-in was from 3pm and they took 25 minutes to confirm our room was ready., so basically 2 hours past their check-in time! They just let us hang out in the lobby, didn’t offer to get us a table or ask us if we wanted to go to the pool and they could let us know when the room was ready. All the other service was generally “ok”, people happy to help but had to be asked with no one taking any initiative to push service on to the next level that was consistent with the price point. Examples would be, we waited at the bar for 10 minutes at the pool for any staff to come to the bar, there were 2 people waiting they served the other person first, i drama but spent 15 minutes preparing their drinks rather than ask what I wanted and then offer to bring it over, rather than make me wait.
Restaurant was slow (to seat people). The food was decent on the whole, but the a La carte options (mostly eggs) were over cooked.
The hotel rooms are well equipped and originally fitted out to a high standard, as are the pool and restaurant. But they are aged now and look tired. Maintenance of building and service let it down. Few light bulbs gone in the room, mould running along LED strip in the shower, plenty of grease on the door hinges to both toilet and shower which splattered into the surrounding floor. None of this would kill anyone, but it was reflective of the wider hotel, loads of pool tiles flaking off in the rooftop pool.
I wouldn’t rush there as a couple, mostly because of service, I think too much attention is focused on families. Just felt €100-150/night over priced compared to the service.

We stayed here for just a couple of nights as a little end of holiday treat and I was really disappointed. The reception staff were about as much use as cardboard as we were checking in they explained nothing about the hotel other than what time breakfast was. The room was lovely but again everything you wanted to know was on a QR code and the WiFi code given on the key card was completely different to the one the Hotel uses? When I went to reception to find out why I couldn't get on the WiFi ( I had to go in person as the instructions on how to contact reception were on the QR coded welcome book) the receptionist looked at me as if I was an idiot not the best welcome to a five star. And as usual with not being able to check in till after lunch there were no sunbeds available by the pool and a very loud wedding party had taken over the top sundeck. The breakfast although offered a large choice you had to order your eggs separately to the buffet style accompaniments meaning you either had cold eggs or cold bacon very strange. Also as mentioned in previous comments the large hotel next door has a massive PA system that drowns out any ambiance that this hotel has along with some very poor Karaoke. So all in all a very expensive and disappointing stay. Sorry

Dear Robert We sincerely appreciate you taking the time to give us such a helpful review. These comments encourage us to correct any faults that occur in our establishment and thus offer a better service every day. Firstly, we are sorry to hear about the problems with the Wifi and breakfast. This is such a rare occurrence and is usually due to an accumulation of misunderstandings and miscalculations, and we certainly assure you that our average guest usually chooses our hotel for its distinctive appearance and exquisite service, as well as its competent location. We are concerned about all the issues raised and will immediately discuss each issue mentioned with the reservation department, which is the department involved in this case, in order to establish a solution and fully prevent any similar situation in the future. We will be happy to receive you to verify that what happened is something unusual. We would like you to enjoy all our services. Again, thank you for your patience and contribution. Best regards, Raquel Andreu General Manager.

first of all this place is miles away from being a 5 star resort …. Rude disinterested staff from the front desk to the waiting staff.. smelly musty rooms with terrible views of a dust bowl of a car park .. water pressure terrible … booked a room to freshen up on departure the day before we left .. a make member of staff on reception refused to give me a room and told me to use the communal shower if I wanted to freshen up .. he had just given away the room I booked to another couple .. I left this hotel absolutely fuming … breakfast is a disaster.. long queues for a table then to receive substandard food .. they can’t even poach an egg properly.. waiting 40 minutes for a cup of coffee as well … this place is an absolute disaster stay well away and spend your money elsewhere

Very disappointing, Service in the breakfast restaurant was bad which really ruined the rest of our day. We had to queue for quite some time in this pseudo 5* restaurant before being told we could not sit outside in the sunshine despite there being empty tables. One morning I went down to ask for a table for four people and was refused. I was told that all four of us had to be visible before being offered a four seater table. I was astonished! The staff didn’t seem to know what an English tea was and when I requested one I was given a lukewarm jug of water and told to go and get my own tea bag and milk from the breakfast bar and pour the milk from one of the large containers and make my own! We weren’t allowed small jugs of milk because of the risk of allergies. How ridiculous! Risk of laziness more like. I could go on. Furthermore, around the pool area, there is no service. In other 5* hotels we are usually offered refreshments around the pool. A cold flannel perhaps? Refreshments? Drinks? Oh! No! Not here. You see no staff offering anything all day. However, one area was very good. The reception staff were courteous, polite and all very helpful. They deserve praise. However, the reception at breakfast has been awful and for this reason we will not be returning.

Not 5* more like 3* - I stayed in Angus de Ibiza in July with my family. We arrived at the hotel around lunch time. When we arrived we were greeted with a glass of prosecco and water for my daughter. We were then told that the people that were in our room before us checked out late so out room wasn't ready. We decided to go and get something to eat at the pool restaurant while we waited. This was the 1st and last time we ate there. The food prices were ridiculous prices even the drinks were expensive. 5.50 euro for 0.5ltr of water and 6 euro for a soft drink! We then went back to the reception to be told that they would ring us when our room was ready. It was so warm, we just wanted to get into some cooler clothes. It got to 3.30pm and we visited the desk again and they advised the room was ready. The bags had been taken up to the room. When we got to the room the room was pretty small and very dated. It doesn't look like anything has been done with the rooms in a long time. The shower trickled out wasn't very powerful at all. On a night when you come back to your room there was a complimentary chocolate and a complementary small bottle of water. We were bed and breakfast - the breakfast had plenty to choose from something for everyone. When we got our bearings we found a supermarket just 10 mins up the road where we bought in our water and snacks. We felt like the staff weren't as interested in us as we didn't spend money round the pool. Everyone used to leave the sunbeds to go and have lunch, because we went out for the lunch the pool staff threw our towels in the towel bin so we had no sunbed to come back to even though we were only gone for no more than an hour. When it came to checking out, the reception guy gave me a bill that was just short of 200 euro. When we looked at it they had tried to charge us for things that we hadn't had, once i questioned it he did take it off. I do think that they try it on to see what they can get out of you. I would defiantly keep a check of what your having if you are eating and drinking in the hotel. If i was to come back to Ibiza I would defiantly look at other accommodation to stay in. the beech that is near by is full of seaweed so there isn't even a nice beach to go and enjoy. In summary this hotel was over rated (not 5*) and very expensive.

There’s a tiny little cove by a great restaurant called La Mar de Santa 3 mins walk away. But the main beach is a lovely 10 minute walk through a marina full of great restaurants.
As for towels, I can’t see why not, we always do.
We’re huge fans of Santa Eulalia and we’ve visited there lots of times so fire away if you have any questions, I’ll be happy to help if I can.

Hi.. no unfortunately children are not allowed on the rooftop bar. We went in August.. I’m not 💯 sure about the restaurant up there though. If you email the hotel they are really helpful.
There are more places to choose from in the Santa Eulalia del Río area.
