We stayed at the hotel recently for one night in glorious Autumn weather. The hotel was great overall. A few random thoughts: The bird hide is fantastic! Lots of birds can be observed and photographed easily. The hotel is very ´spanish´, which may not appeal to Brits! The room was very clean and warm. There are no tea making facilities...

A family hotel, where you can (have to) eat late in the evening. Spanish style. In July there were a lot of people, so be patient to get your food. The food in the restaurant is good/very good. The rooms are a little bit old fashioned. Some have a rather modern bathroom others a rather old one. But it is...

A family run little hotel, in the midst of the impressive Sierra de Gredos in Central Spain, close to Avila. An ideal spot for families with children, or nature lovers. Here they will find a hide in the hotel property from where to watch birds or maybe a fox (early in the morning) or watch the Milky Way at night....

Stayed 2 nights in this family run Hostal. The hosts were welcoming and helpful, friendly at all times, and rightly very proud of their bird hide which is part of the hostal. Even a non-birder would be captivated by the large variety of birds that come to the feeders, including some specialities such as Black Kites. Food is of a...

We were a group of four, bird watching with a guide, Jesus. He is a regular here, and I can see why. Perfect location, incredible Gredos views, good food, nice couple running it, and basic but clean rooms.

Very early in the season we were one of a few guests. It was a very friendly and personal welcome. The rooms are clean and we had a terrace with a great view on the mountains. The service was great, and the owners were very attentive with special diet wishes. We got tips for walks in the mountains and for...

We did not stay here, but ate in the restaurant while staying up the road at the Parador. The food was simply fantastic - clearly all home cooked, really well presented, and delicious. The waiter (almost certainly the owner) was lovely, and really friendly, and brought us liqueurs to taste at the end of our meal. He also put an...

We stayed 2 nights in this wonderfull place. Very rustic, nice rooms and beautiful views over the northern Gredos mountains, with good access to the hiking areas. The rooms are nice rustic and complete. We had a room with a terrace and loved it. The terrace is a nice place to enjoy the view on the mountains and relax a...
