Fantastic hostel, stayed with friends while climbing in the cairngorms. The hostel is small and cosy with excellent facilities. The hosts were warm and friendly and very welcoming. I would recommend this hostel to anyone. Newtonmore is quiet and has limited facilities which suited us just fine.

I stayed with my son and daughter (12 and 14) during a 4 day cycle trip from Ayrshire to Nethy Bridge. This was the most enjoyable night of our trip, we had great company, the hostel is cycle friendly with its facilities and history and very comfortable. Future trips will involve more hostels and fewer guest houses and a return...

My second visit to this great hostel. First was when doing the East Highland Way last year - the welcome & facilities outstanding - great showers & drying room - & you don't have to share room with strangers either - fantastic! Sue & Neil helpful with advice & whole experience positive. I'll be going back again...

5 of us visited for 3 days and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Neil was a very welcoming host and pointed us in the direction of the local Wildcat Trail. The showers at the end of the walk were very welcoming and just lounging in front of the log fire was bliss. The facilities are more than the 3 stars awarded and...

For my stag do a group of 10 of us cycled from Edinburgh to Inverness and one of our stop offs was at the Newtonmore Hostel. It was absolutely perfect for our needs. Neil, the host, was great, very welcoming and gave us a place to store our bikes safely over night. The accommodation itself was perfect. The bunk bed...

Great comfy hostel: I phoned looking for a place I could stay with my dog. They were great and I got a 4/5 bunk room all to myself and my collie, for £18 (no extra cost for the whole room or the dog). The showers / toilets were all clean and fully functioning and the drying room, which I put...

From the moment i arrived i was treated like a member of the family. Sue showed me to my room and couldn't of made me feel more welcome. After a week wild camping and hiking it truly did feel like i was at home in the common room. Neil and Sue pretty much left me to my own devices, but...

I had the pleasure, of staying, Some would say a typical bunk house, But it s the people that make it special. The host s could not have been more friendly and having a nice log burner to warm your toes on was lovely. its set in a exultant position for shops/pub, and bus stops, there is a train station,...

I've stayed here a couple of times recently and consider it to be one of the better run hostels in the highlands. It's as clean and slightly cramped as most hostels are, but the details are all sorted: an efficient drying room, working wifi, recycling, friendly owners and a short walk to a pub. Recommened

Stopped here on a cycling trip. Arrived soaked and bedraggled and a bit fraught. The Hostel was absolutly perfect to get me dried out, relaxed and back on my way the following day. Neil and Sue are inspirational characters and take a real pride and interst in their guests. Possibly the best Hostel ive stayed in? Certainly. cant recommend it...
