My boyfriend and I, and one of his friends stayed set the guest house for a one night stop off while the boys were cycling from Land's End to John O'Groats. Julie and Ian were fantastic hosts, they gave us a great recommendation for dinner, showed real enthusiasm for the boys challenge and were very welcoming. The rooms were very...

We had a great couple of days at Alvey house during the easter 2014. Our room was newly refurbished, so it looked great and had an amazingly comfortable bed. The owners were very welcoming, and gave us a lot of great advice on how to fill our two days in int highlands, from hikes to local resturants. We highly recommend...

We had to spend the night in Newtonmore after losing a dog in the hills, thankfully he was found a few days later. Julie and Ian could not have been better, they were absolutely superb. They took all our wet gear and dried it overnight for the next morning. Julie was up at the crack of dawn and had our...

We had a great weekend at Alvey House in a very welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. The owners had great advice on the hiking routes and Munros in the surrounding hills, as such I think it would make an excellent base for anyone planning a walking or climbing holiday in the Highlands. After our day in the hills we had a...

Our family of four stayed here recently (25 Sep 2013) on a whirlwind tour of the Scottish Highlands, we had one double room (King bed) and one twin room for our teenage children. We have stayed in several B&Bs on this trip in England and Scotland and our standards are quite high but we couldn't fault this place. The owner...

Beautiful B & B within walking distance to the village of Newtonmore. Plenty of safe parking in the grounds and close to lots of lovely interesting attractions. Our room had recently been renovated and was beautiful, ultra clean and had an amazing king size bed. Julie is a gem and so enthusiastic about the Highlands and all on offer ....

We didn't book ahead, so the local tourist information helped us find this B&B. We had hoped to find a location where we could hike from the lodging. This place was perfect. Julie greeted us with an enthusiastic and warm welcome. She was an incredible host, knows the area well and could suggest local trails given the time we had...
