Overall can't fault this hotel. People very friendly and chatty. Rooms standard was good, bathroom upgrades are lovely and having tea and coffee in your room is a bonus. We stayed 4 of us in 2 rooms with dinner on the first night. Although very tasty the main course was very small and supposed to be haggis and something pie...

We stayed after the highland games so it was busy but no problems at all. Hotel made up of a couple of seperate buildings, no idea why it must have been a designers thought. Plenty of parking and it's a nice enjoyable hotel. We had dinner without booking, good brit food served by pleasant staff, accordion player too. Breakfast served...

The hotel is in real need of a makeover - the decor and the menus! But we were made to feel welcome and the hotel was clean, cosy and comfy at a good rate. Our dogs were made very welcome, which makes a nice change.

Stayed a couple of nights. Staff exceptionally helpful. Meal times quite limiting but we coped . Very much a tour bus hotel where food was concerned but again adequate. Would certainly use it again if visiting the area for a couple of nights .

We spent two nights here. The shower room was brand new and spotless, room was clean, big and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and the evening meal was lovely, especially the dessert tray. Breakfast was ok. Overall there was a strange smell throughout the hotel, probably due to the age of the place. Other than that it was great....

I was on a Trafalgar tour and had a single room. It was disappointing. The room was very basic with one twin bed. The carpeting was stained and one section of it was totally rubbed off or burned off. The only part left was the backing. The wall at the door where you'd enter or leave had a hole in...

Part of our trip to the Highlands included this hotel as a base for a few nights. The room was functional but needs updating although having said that the bathroom had been modernised and was reasonable. The shower cubicle though did not leave any room for manoeuvre and as fast as you used the soap it was washed off!! We...

Ok, so the good points..... Room clean and warm, our bath room newly refurbished, staff very friendly and great location but........ Not so good points.... Room dated, no fridge and the walls are so thin, as I write this review I can hear next rooms tv playing and their conversation, and they are not noisy! Also traffic noise can be...

Stayed in Room No 41 first floor. Clean and pleasant but décor a little tired and needing some tlc. Bed comfortable - lighting adequate but poor if you wanted to read. Fantastic shower room. Good location for stop off and they accommodate dogs. Within easy reach of Kingussie and Aviemore.

Stayed at The Highlander Hotel with two friends the night before some Munro bagging. Was surprised and glad we were able to book a triple room. Similar price and feel to travel lodge. Fairly basic but with more character. Room was clean and comfortable. Didn't like the shower - the cubicle was very narrow. All staff were polite and friendly....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
For true Highland hospitality come to the Highlander, a hotel renowned for its good food and warm welcome. The hotel is an ideal base for touring the North of Scotland with mountain ranges, forests, lochs and river valleys waiting to be explored. Wind down in our inviting restaurant serving an array of dishes made from locally sourced produce.
