This motel is central to Rubyvale shops and amenities yet in a quiet aspect. There was a lot of tame wildlife and changing bird life throughout the day. The hosts Michael and Jane are experienced fossickers and free with their advice. There is an observatory where Michael does tours of the heavens by appointment and they have a small shop...

Friendly Jane & Mike made everything easy. Good location. Quiet and great views. Plenty of local wildlife. Ask Mike about viewing the night sky for stars and planets. The pool area is good . Our room even had a laundry

This is the third time we've stayed here over the last three years. Friendly hosts, great location and the unit is very clean and has everything you need. Don't forget to say hi to CLEO the dog. The kids just loved her.

We had a very pleasant stay here for 2 nights. We decided we wanted to stay longer but they were unfortunately booked out over Easter weekend so we moved to Rubyvale pub log cabins for the next 2 nights (unfortunately, rooms are pretty dirty & ant & mozzie problem & more expensive than the Rubyvale motel & holiday units). The...

We were on a fossicking trip and stayed 3 days. The unit was huge, clean an fully stocked. We sat outside under the verandah every morning and evening and watch the wildlife close by. The Taylors were very helpful every afternoon when we came back with our 'treasures' to have a quick look and some advise. We will always return.

Loved this place. Very tranquil. Extremely clean and well set out rooms. Friendly and thoughtful hosts. Close to places to go fossicking and to the local eateries. Would definitely recommend staying here.

We stayed here last year on journey from Airly Beach, was so quite & peaceful that we looked forward to going back again. So we did this December 2016 & was just as lovely as we remembered. We stayed New Years eve & 1 other night, the owner remembered us from the previous year. We had a 2 room unit,...

We stayed one night only but had a great time. In the off season Oct to Jan, the gem places closed early (3.00 pm) and so we had time on our hands. But this was not a problem as we went for a dip in the pool and were serenaded by apostle birds. The garden is well looked after and...

My husband and I stayed in a 1 bedroom unit for 2 nights towards the end of our trip to Western Queensland. We stayed in cabins or motels every night during our trip and this would have to be hands down the best place we stayed. It was so peaceful in a wonderful setting we did not want to leave....

We couldn't believe how well this place is setup. Here we are in the middle of the Gemfields where there are many temporary and shabby buildings. Not so here, the facilities are first rate, everything is clean and well maintained. The gardens are lovely though I am told this can be somewhat dependent on the rainfall. They even have a...
