We stayed on the top floor, corner unit 1601. This unit has a wrap around lanai. The security at this building was very good. There is a gated entrance into the parking lot, a fob is required to access the elevator, and there is a security guard on premise. Unit 1601 also has the added security of a gate before you can access the front door. The nice thing about this is you can leave the screen door from the LR open and also the screen door in the bedroom without having to worry. The unit was clean, but it is dated. What you're paying for is the view which is incredible. There were two a/c units, a separate one apparently for the bedroom. That unit worked well, but the other one for the rest of the condo did not seem to work. It was not a big issue for us as this time of year was not very warm and we got a cool breeze from the lanai. The unit was well stocked with all the necessities and there were also extra shampoos, sunscreen, etc, which were probably left behind by other guests. Before you hit the market, you may want to see what is all available in the unit.. There were chairs and a beach lounger in a closet as well as an umbrella and some beach toys. There is also a washer and dryer in the unit. The mattress was very comfortable in the bedroom. My husband enjoyed sleeping on the lounge chair on the lanai, so he could enjoy the ocean breeze and hear the waves all night.
This area is not a tourist area, but primarily local. If you're looking for trendy restaurants and bars, you will not find it here. However, there are several local restaurants that are very good. There is a locally owned grocery store, only a few miles from the condo. There are a lot of homeless in this area. In fact there is a beautiful rocky point that we wanted to walk out on, however, there were several homeless camps on the pathway. We were never approached by anyone wanting money or anything like that, so it wasn't a huge deal to us. All of the beaches along the road had homeless camps and it was unfortunate to see the desperateness and all the trash piled up. Don't let that necessarily deter you from renting a unit here as it is very secure and we never had problems. Just wanted someone to be aware of it. I had seen the reviews and was aware of it. It was not like this 2 years ago when my sister stayed here.

My wife and I have had nearly 2 weeks here and it has been wonderful. Our condo unit is on main floor so we can just walk out onto the beautiful sand beach and into the water or sit on our deck to eat overlooking the beach and ocean. Fantastic! Parking is secure in a gated lot with security guard nearby and they have new Weber BBQ’s for making suppers here! And we are away from all the hustle and bustle of Honolulu which is an added bonus!

Our family really enjoyed our stay here, mostly for the beautiful beach. We loved eating meals on the balcony and looking for turtles and rays swimming in the shallows (we saw several!) The pool and hot tub were also nice, though for some reason security always locked the gate from the pool to the beach in the evenings, meaning you had to go all the way around the parking lot to get into the pool, but regardless we enjoyed it especially during the day.
The beach is a little bit choppy. Our first day it was calm enough we were able to snorkel and saw some turtles and great fish! The next two however it was too choppy to be able to snorkel easily.
All in all a fantastic location I'd highly recommend to people who want to enjoy the beach on this side of the island.

Spent a week at a timeshare condo - the room was very nice with a full kitchen, very comfy bed & pillows! Best part was the large balcony & views of the ocean, which is right in front of the facility! Spent hours watching & listening to the ocean waves.😍. Beach is uncrowded for swimming or whatever, and there is a lovely swimming pool/hot tub. Place has good security, requires fob to enter all public areas (parking, elevators, pools)

Only negative is no restaurants within walking distance, you must drive to eat out.

Only negative is there are no restaurants

This resort is replacing the old tile flooring going to your condo. The old tile has been torn out but has not been replaced yet after two weeks.
This is a family location but very quite after about 8 pm.
There is a security guard at the entrance and you need a fob to get into the elevators.
Room 608 is the perfect condo to be in. Lots of room and 3 patio doors.
Kitchen is very well stocked. New dishwasher, washing machine (front loader) and dryer.

Absolutely gorgeous location & fantastic unit with an great patio to enjoy morning coffee, afternoon lunch and of course a great sunset. With all the positives I would not stay here again for a couple of reasons. The main reason is that it is not convenient to get to the North Shore. In all my research I did not realize the road going North is not open for traffic. It still appears as a road on maps but apparently it has been washed out so many times they decided to to repair the road. So you had to go 30 minutes south then go 30 more minutes to go North. That was an hour of travel time (on a good day & time of day)to get to the North Shore. A second negative was the amount of homeless tent cities. The majority of local beaches in that area were taken over by the homeless, not a place for tourists. I will add that there were no problems on the beach at this hotel. It was a very beautiful beach and quiet beach. The waves were large so great if you want to be daring and body surf or boogie board, not so great for little kids or just floating. If you are looking for quiet and have no plans to travel around the island this could be a good choice.

We loved everything about our stay. The Condo was pristine with all the linens available for 4 people. The Beach was empty except for guests from the condos. The ocean was exciting with medium waves coming in. If you don't get out soon enough you might get hit. I still have sand in my swimsuit.

We loved our stay here! The room was adorable and we spent so much time on our spacious balcony looking over the ocean. The beach isn't private but it was never crowded. Usually only a few other people swimming at the same time as me.

Super clean apartments, breathtaking view, comfortable bed and plenty of towels. The TV works very well with lots of on demand. Sunsets are spectacular! Property seems really well managed, great price-value. The staff is the best about this, mahalo to Chris and Mei!!!!

We did not want to stay in Honolulu during our trip to Oahu, and were quite happy with our stay at the Hawaiian Princess Resort. It was farther up the coast than I had expected, with not much available in the immediate area. However, that was more than made up for by the amazing views with all units waterfront. Not having to deal with the Honolulu traffic everyday was another big plus. While not a super luxury resort, it was very nice and had everything we needed. I would recommend especially if you want to avoid the city.
