It certainly is a very unique experience to be in the heart of the rainforest. Customer service is impeccable. However, this lodge is marketed as a "luxury resort" and it's priced as a super luxury resort. It's a decent resort - the rooms are adequately comfortable. However, for the price that you pay, you might expect decent wifi connection both...

Spent 2 days here as a family of four hoping to see wild orangutans . After 2.5 hour drive from Lahad Datu we were surprised to find the high level of comfort of our rooms . we had two of the older De luxe rooms which had quirky outdoor bathtubs. Well equipped rooms, no air con but effective ceiling fans...

This place is heaven on earth! How they have managed to provide this level of accommodation this far into the rainforest is amazing. The trek in via jeep is interesting! But when you arrive, the welcome you get is unsurpassed. The rooms are amazing. The food is amazing. The environment is amazing. The guides are fabulous. We werent here for...

This is a place with pretty much all pros and many cons. The one con may be it is hard to get there, however this is part of what really makes it great. The best way to do this is book with a Malaysian Borneo specialist and they will make all the arrangements to get there so all you have...

We absolutely loved our visit! Starting from the bone jarring 2.5 hour drive into Danum Valley from Lahad Datu (it was raining the night before and the trails were muddy so it was some four wheel drive action!), we arrived to an eye popping lunch time view at the lodge that open up to the forest. Just sitting there listening...

We visited the BRL in October and had a wonderful three days in a small villa on the river. We had an excellent guide who took us out into the jungle anytime of the day and we saw Various Monkeys, bats, squirrels, orangutang, hornbills and reptiles. The primary rainforest was a wonder of this world and such a privilege to...

The journey from LDU to Danum Valley is already exciting. The Driver, Mr. Roslan was very informative, and super friendly too!! The lodge was spacious, despite no aircond in the room, that won't effect the whole stay much. when we arrived, the staff welcome us with their bright smile and was introduce to our guide, Paul. (by far, Paul is...

We weren't exactly sure what to expect here - it was part of a multi stop trip we booked around Malaysia and Singapore - but after being slightly apprehensive it became the best part of our trip. The staff were very welcoming on arrival with cool drinks and towels after the 2 hour 4x4 journey from the tiny local airport....

A truly great lodge located in a remote primary rainforest valley. Service at the lodge was faultless, facilities and meals were first rate. Guides are required for all trail walks and were terrific. We were lucky to have Theo. 4 clients per guide and he managed the trail selection and pace to suit the clients. Day and night trips enabled...
