We stayed for two nights at Nxala Ranch when we visited the battlefields area as part of our trip to SA. The accommodation was extremely comfortable, and the food produced by Dora was very tasty too, and served by her and her husband Frans on the beautiful deck. Dora also organised a guide(Paul Garner) to show us the battlefields of...

Wonderful location in a secluded valley. Rooms and living area are of a very high standard. Breakfast and dinner included, made with a real love of food, using as many ingredients from the ranch as possible. Wildlife, including a count of 60+ birds can be seen while eating breakfast or enjoying a glass of excellent wine on the veranda. A...

Two nights on a ranch in a very good guesthouse. Dora and Franz show you the ranch with its cultural and natural elements. A ranch on 5000 ha. Impressing are the bulls of the cattle. Breakfast and dining is of high quality. Dora can prepare fine meals.

This lodge is beautifully located in a quiet area on the ranch. It only has a few rooms. The room (downstairs) is large and nicely furnished with a well designed bathroom with both shower and bathtub. Hosts Dora and Frans are great. Dora cooks like a chef and Frans takes you on a little tour across the ranch to see...

Nxala Ranch is an amazing place, we can't say enough wonderful things about it. Breakfast or supper on their veranda is accompanied by views of Giraffe, Impala, all kinds of animals. The food is scrumptious. Your room is beautiful, well decorated, and entirely comfortable. The surrounding area is scenic, and be sure to ask to see the ancient San people paintings....

This is a great location to visit the battlefields, Dora and Frans were excellent hosts, with Dora in charge of the super food and Frans the genial 'waiter' The rooms were clean and very comfortable, dinner taken on the terrace with a beautiful view over the lake. Frans took us on a tour of the ranch which does also have...

We stayed for five nights and were far from bored we, enjoyed the tours to the Anglo Zulu battlefields and certain of the Boer wars sites undertook a night drive caught a few bass and played golf at Dundee. Highly recommended with excellent hosts and simple but excellent food.

We stayed at the Nxala Lodge for two nights. Dora and Frans went out of their way to make us feel welcome and arranged a Battlefield visit for us, as well as taking us to see the Cave paintings - such a privilege. The food was wonderful, catering not only for the adults but for our two grandchildren, one of...
