I can see that the prices fluctuate, but since I went in the low season in June my friend and I paid just 2500LKR (about $24) for a non-AC room with fan. Yes, this place is not right on the beach but it is a very short walk to the beach from here. Also, the views from the balcony are... More

I stayed at Hotel Dhammika for 20 days. The rooms have a great view of the ocean, at the center of the beach. I enjoyed being so close to the ocean and having my breakfast while enjoying the great scenery. The staff are very friendly and trustworthy. You don't have to worry about getting ripped-off or losing your money at... More

We stayed at Hotel Dhammika for 3 nights during our 3-week stay in Sri Lanka. We were surprised to find nearly every hotel in Unawatuna completely booked when we arrived, but we were able to get an A/C room here for Rs.6000 (£34) per night. It seems Unawatuna is much more expensive than other places in the country, but the... More

I had booked a 4 night stay at this hotel during Feb 2011, over 4 months in advance. When I arrived at the hotel however, I was told that the couple in my room the previous night had decided to stay an extra night, therefore I would have to go & find somewhere else to stay that night !!. There... More

This is my first Trip Advisor review; having just come back from a fortnight in Sri Lanka, where we relied on the hotel recommendations here, I thought I'd add my tuppence worth. My boyfriend and I stayed at Dhammika for four nights, and it's a perfectly good place to stay in itself - slap bang in the middle of the... More

I stayed 5 nights at the end of October 2010 for a chill out break after business in Colombo. This is an excellent B & B hotel with an excellent room, 4 poster bed, and bathroom. I paid for AC but did not need it, I was on the top floor, the best, and it picked up a breeze. There... More

At first glance I was unimpressed buy the Hotel Dhammika. Unlike many places in Unawatuna, the hotel has no restaurant or bar to get your attention and there is no lobby to speak of. Upstairs however, I found a spacious, sunny and spotlessly clean room with beautiful views over the beach, and I chose to stay here for several days... More

this is an ideal place in unawatuna. Very small resort anyway, but this hotel is well placed in the middle with sea views. Very safe feel, and spacious rooms. Managed to get good price of 2700 rupees with AC / tv etc, (£15) per night. didnt have breakfast, but close to beach bars to get this. Good place to eat... More

Hotel Dhammika is a great choice for anyone wanting sea-facing accommodation with hotel standard rooms but at guesthouse prices! It is situated right in the middle of Unawatuna Bay, just a few feet from the beach. We walked in and were quoted Rs3500 for a superb second floor room with comfortable four-poster bed and integral mosquito net, fan, and a... More
