We'd heard a mixed bag of reviews regarding Kingfisher about slow staff etc., but I have to say, that wasn't our experience at all! As soon as we arrived we were made to feel welcome, despite there being not many seats available. The hotel itself - the lobby anyway - is really pretty and opens right out on to the...

Definitely a lovely hotel, with very friendly staff, room almost perfect, it would be if there was sufficient lighting, the light is so low it is impossible to read in bed without a torch. However with the high price they charge a few things need to be improved: - We were left without electricity a few times and for 2...

We stayed at this boutique hotel for 2 nights during our Sri Lanka trip. We particularly liked Kingfisher's location - at the tail end of Unawatuna Beach, where we could enjoy some peace and quiet without having to put up with the crowds and yet accessible to shops and eats in the vicinity. Other plus points include friendly staff, and...

We had been warned against here due to the bar and party atmosphere but want presented itself on arrival was a relaxing and sleepy little place. Only 4 rooms we think and a great restaurant and bar. We explored and visited other beaches in the area deciding to head back here to spend the afternoon. The food is great although...

This was my second stay at Kingfisher and I actually stayed at 2 other hotels waiting for rooms to become available here. Nowhere else in Unawatuna compares to Kingfisher. The rooms are far superior to any other accommodation provider in the area. Very spacious, absolutely spotless with cable tv, room safe, large balcony with stunning ocean and beach views. Reliant...

Received a warm welcome; our room was on the first floor and was neat and spacious. Though the view to the ocean and beach was semi obstructed by the trees, it did not disappoint us (the second floor rooms may have an unobstructed view; not sure). The staff is very friendly and have a smile ON always. The sea food...

Absolutely the best hotel on Unawatuna Beach. The rooms are stylish, sleek and spacious. The staff are incredibly attentive and the restaurant and bar is right on the beach. We loved our room which was number 2 upstairs that had the best view and a great balcony. Can absolutely recommend and will come back to The Kingfisher!

A really nice, friendly place right on the beach with clean, comfortable rooms with great balconies and views. Downstairs the restaurant served delicious food in a vibrant atmosphere on the beach. It is a really nice place to chill out and enjoy tne ambience of Unawatuna beach. The rooms are worth the extra cost but a bit disappointed that breakfast...

The Kingfisher hotel is very nicely appointed and well located at Unawatuna beach. There are only four units, all with beachfront views. The units are beautifully designed, plenty of polished concrete, open plan bathroom and a large, useful balcony to laze with a drink and enjoy the sea view and beach parade. Kingfisher is also great value we think. The restaurant...
