I had a chance to stay in this hotel on our way to see bath @ Unawatuna with my Japanese Friend. And the hotel was quite nice and really attracted the surroundings and natural garden. Since its a off season for them only we met the owner who was really nice gentlemen treated us friendly.

To finish our holiday we went back to Unawatuna (we were last there 3 years ago) and because we enjoyed it so much last time, we stayed at the Home Stay Strand. This time we had the Duran Duran room one the first floor at the back of the house with its nice little covered terrace. Our view was mainly... More

Wonderful colonial house, set amongst a beautiful tropical garden, the owners make you feel so welcome, they will do anything for you! A very quiet, peaceful location, but close to the village and beaches. So relaxing, in a true Sri Lanken home. Thank you Asoka missing your lovely smiley face already.

My second visit here and once again a wonderful relaxing experience in a traditional house in a tucked away part of the village set in a lush garden hosted by kind and caring people. What more could you ask Thank you Asoka and family for making our stay so perfect.

Mr Asoka and his white home are like old friends welcoming us in wonderful Sri Lanka. The luxuriant garden and the very good breakfast are a plus too. Mr Asoka was very helpful and all the staff was great!

We stayed in the Duran Duran suite which is where DD's manager stayed while the band were in Sri Lanka making their famous videos. It's a handy base for travelling to Galle and the souther beaches and very accessibly located in the heart of Unawatuna, set back slightly from the main road. Asoka couldn't have been more helpful, organising tuk... More

As a family of four we were accommodated in the rear room attached to the main house overlooking the jungle garden. The accommodation was simple and met our needs with an excellent breakfast served in the main house. From our covered veranda we saw peacocks, mongoose, monitors, monkeys and fireflies! The house is located 2mins walk from the beach and... More

Home stay strand is perfectly situated. Very close to the beach and bars, but in a large garden that provides a calm and relaxed atmosphere. Everybody in the homestay will do their upmost to make you feel comfortable. It's been said before, but it is so true: a real home away from home. The interior is classic in a good... More
