Might the the few of the places where I would stay in Palo Seco. Food is ok, the place is quite "Isolated", so if you want a place to stay to be quiet and enjoy nature, then this is the place for you. I gave 4 stars because of the Pool Area, Room/In Room Bathroom and Location.

We had an amazing stay in this little paradise with direct access on a private beach! The hotel is amazing and the lodge are fully equipped, the restaurant offered all kind of food depending if you want to have a quick lunch or a romantic diner, the staff is really cool and will take your order wherever you are on...

It's a shame as I'd like to give this a very good/ excellent review - but the good facilities are diminished by cold and dismissive management, as other reviews have pointed out. You certainly get the feeling that if you disagreed with them about anything (or complained) - you would not get a good response. It's a shame as it's...

We were visiting family in San Jose and wanted a few days at the beach. We booked for 2 days and immediately knew we booked the right place. Small boutique hotel with only 12 rooms, private draped verandas, amazing staff and very private. The beach is quiet with hardly anyone to be seen. The attention to detail and decor is...

We enjoyed the whole Clandestino Beach Resort experience. Walking on the beach without seeing anyone in either direction for an hour, unique/quirky accommodation huts, lots of room at the pool (no saving spots all day with a towel) even though the resort was fully booked, sloths and monkeys, a chance at incredible sunsets and good food at a reasonable price...

Notwithstanding the few very negative reviews we read, Our 2 nights stay was very good. The place is very nice and perfect for relaxing at the end of our holiday. The place is far away the town (15/20 mins by car), but not so long as written in other reviews. We saw a lot of animals: cappuccine monkeys, sloth, birds...

We were met at check in with cold beverages that were delicious! The double queen room was BEAUTIFUL but we needed an extra bed for our teen aged son and they brought one right away. The grounds were so lush that monkeys came to visit and the owner of the hotel brought bananas for us to feed the monkeys with....

Just spent a night at Clandestino with my family and loved it! This is a great hotel secluded in a beautiful place with courteous staff and great service. We loved the free wifi in the property, the pool and the beach, also, being a small hotel you feel like you have the entire premises for yourself. Great for families with...

I had a business trip in San Jose Costa Rica and wanted to "decompress" after my meetings. I chose Clandestino as it is a pretty easy drive from San Jose and is completely off the "tourist" grid. I could not have been more happy with Clandestino. What a wonderful little jewel! I arrived just after dark and was delighted when...
