Was quite nervous about the accommodation as it didn't cost us much. I guess it was reasonably basic but very well presented, clean and comfortable. Staff were really friendly and the food decent with more than you could want. Within a short most things in Monteverde and the reception organised pick ups for us for attractions further out. These were...

This small family-run hotel was good value for the money. The host was friendly and attentive to all/any needs. The room was spacious and clean and the [included] breakfast was freshly made with ample portions. It is a 10-15 minute walk to most of the restaurants in town.

Monteverde is a magical place. The hotel was great. The staff was extremely friendly. They found guides for a night hike and another for a day hike. The guides and the hikes were amazing. We saw a huge green snake (we asked to see one!), as well as toucans, mammals, and more.

The hotel room is clean and simple. No air conditioning, but not needed during our stay. The breakfast served was very good and ample. As others have noted the lodge is somewhat away from town, but so are most other hotels. It's about a 15 minute walk down a dusty dirt road to town. There's a few decent restaurants all...

Heiner was very nice to pick us up at another hotel that could not accommodate us, when I mix d up the arrival date. My daughter and I are very happy with the location and room and we feel safe. I'd recommend this place to friends.

We love the staffs here! Definitely looks like a husband/wife business. (assuming the guy is the husband and Christina is the wife?) Bottom line, lovely people and lovely place! The cons are the water isn't hot at all. Well, it start off hot, then quickly gets colder, and colder, and colder. In the end, you find yourself turning the cold...

The hotel is a little out of Santa Elena but only about 10 minutes walk or so. Some of that is on a road with no pavement so after dark we opted for a taxi which was only 1,000 colones (<$2) each way. The rooms were nice but the garden was a bit of a disappointment to me having been...

We never would have found this place if it wasn't recommended to us, but it was a wonderful find! The room was very beautiful and clean but the best part was Heiner and his family. They were extremely welcoming, friendly, and took care of everything we needed. They helped book excursions for us, recommended activities to do, and even brought...

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights during our tour of Costa Rica. The place is small and very comfortable and we slept really well each night. Our family hosts were warm, welcoming and considerate. Nothing was too much trouble and they were happy to replace towels when requested and even to dry some of our very wet...

Felt very safe in this small hotel. Heiner and his family were great and provided any info needed to get around area. Breakfast was good and overall the hotel was great for the price. Would stay here again if I visit again.
