We stayed there 2 nights. The staff at the reception was super friendly and helpful with all the trips. The lobby was always full, a lot of possibilites to exchange the travelling ecperience. And of course not to mention two great cats, Bobby and Grace....More
We stayed here for 2 nights in a double room with private bath. As mentioned in other reviews, the walls are super thin and you can hear everything from your neighbours- but this is not uncommon in Costa Rica. The room was comfortable enough but...More
Bustling place, lots of people coming and going. Super friendly and efficient staff. Very nice and clean room and bathroom. Breakfast came from the place next door, you got a token and ordered from a set menu and ate outside or in the reception area...More
Pretty much standard hostel fare. The difference here is the staff.
They are really helpful and informative.
Good knowledge on local options for activities and placed to visit.
Rooms are a good standard, perhaps falls short a little on some of the communal areas.

As the other respondent said, the shuttle is not free, but I can't really imagine it would be as Santa Elena is way up in the mountains. A resort close to the airport could have a free shuttle theoretically, but I never saw any free shuttles really. There are plenty of transportation options for tours and activities. Sometimes the place that you get the tour will send transport or the kind folks at the pension can help arrange things for you.
