The Historias Lodge is a lovely place to stay while visiting the Monteverde region. There are a variety of different room types for different group sizes, and the rooms are very clean and comfortable. The Lodge is located in an ideal location for walking down to Santa Elena or up to Monteverde, and the view is beautiful! The food at...

The Historias Lodge is a beautiful place to stay. You can walk up into the cloud forest or down into the city of Santa Elena. Many restaurants and museums, such as the Butterfly Garden, are close by. It is run by very friendly people who speak English quite well so communicating is very enjoyable.

We stayed at Historias Lodge for only one night in August and were very impressed. Our room was enormous, clean and comfortable, though not luxurious, but was perfect for our requirements. Alba, who runs the lodge, is a lovely warm, friendly lady, who cannot do enough for her guests. We arrived later than planned due to a major traffic jam,...

We stayed here while in Monteverde which already was such an incredible aspect to our adventure in that region of the country. Alba - our hotel manager - was funny, friendly, a total doll. The room was huge with an incredible few of the valley. Plus, the price was right at $60 a night which included a delicious, full breakfast....

The room was spacious, clean, and it had a h-u-g-e tub. The location was great - nearby restaurants, a grocery, ice cream parlor, etc within walking distance. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and a half dozen or more hummingbirds can be viewed while you eat. The breakfast was good and the personnel gracious. On two occasions we were welcomed to...

Luis Brenes and his sister Alba will go all out to please their guests. They're real Ticos whose family has lived in the area for generations and love their hometown. Luis can articulately talk about the history of this until-recently remote area. Check out the Monteverde photo collection by the reception desk. Monteverde is a small town, hilly, but walkable....
