Detailed Reviews
We were so lucky to be invited to a wedding in Santa Maria di Castellabate. We found the hotel to be beautifully located, just 500meters from the main square on the hillside, so only a short walk away. Being on the hillside the views were stunning & having a sea view room was just fantastic. The staff were really welcoming & couldn't have been more helpful. The pool is fresh & clean with a life guard on duty at all times with ample sun-beds & parasols provided. The buffet breakfast was perfect, with fresh cappuccino to order and the lunch menu was great with fresh salads & baguettes.
All in all we had a wonderful stay & look forward to a return visit soon.

We visited this hotel for a family wedding in July. The views from your room and more particularly whilst you are having breakfast are simply fabulous. The hotel staff are friendly and extremely helpful and have a great sense of humour. Food at breakfast , lunch and dinner is excellent and the pool large with waiter service if you want it. It was also nice to see a life guard on duty each day.
To get to the town you can use the hotel shuttle bus which runs up to 7pm or it is a 10 min walk, downhill into town but c15 min coming back as all uphill.
The town is a real hive of activity at night and many restaurants/bars.
We will definitely return to this lovely hotel. Thankyou to all the staff and owners who made our week so memorable.

We were lucky enough to have our friends and family join us in Santa Maria for our wedding in July 2022. Our ceremony was held at Palazzo Belmonte followed by a reception at Garden Riviera.
We would love to thank the hotel and the amazing staff for all the wonderful hard work you did at Hotel Garden Riviera to make our wedding day absolutely perfect for us all.
We found from the moment we all arrived that you were on hand to help and guide us through the week long celebrations! Staying at the property was an added delight, and all the facilities were perfect.
On the day, the wedding arrangements from the aperitif to us dancing the night away went without a hitch. The food was delicious and the service throughout impeccable.
There are always stresses and strains before these occasions but all our fears were gone, and we are all looking back on the most perfect day.
Please do send on our massive thanks to all involved in such a brilliant day.
All our love, Samantha & George x

Just back from the most amazing stay at the Garden Riveria, this is our second time visiting this hotel and is extra special coming back 5 years after we got married in Santa Maria. Our recent stay was even better than the first. The lovely Raffaella welcomed us back with open arms and sent up some little treats to our room upon our arrival. We stayed on the top floor-with the recently renovated rooms and wow what a room it was. The room was equipped with a jacquzzi and so much space for my two daughters. Not to mention that balcony!! The best view of Santa Maria from the whole hotel. Even more special as it looked out onto Torre Perotti, where we got married. Thankyou again Raffaella and her team for making our stay so memorable. Will definitely be back soon.

Stayed here this August and had an amazing time. Views from the hotel are stunning. Staff couldn't be more helpful. Food was great! Rooms are clean and modern. Pool is fab and spacious, didn't have to worry about waking up at the crack of dawn to get a sun lounger. There's a shuttle bus to the beach but it's only a 7 minute walk if you miss it however the hills are quite steep. Myself and my boyfriend went onto Sorrento as planned but I really missed this hotel. I can't wait to return.

We stayed at the Garden Riviera for a week in August, during which we got married at the Torre Perotti in Santa Maria. From the moment we arrived, Raffaella, Emy and Francesco and all of the staff made us feel completely relaxed, at home and part of the family.
The lobby and surrounding areas are very modern/on trend with upmarket Mediterranean living. Large open spaces, comfortable seating and a nice bar area to one side; the main restaurant to the other with its outside dining terrace adjoining and garden to the side. The bar has all the main beers, wines and spirits but may lack some specifics. If you ask the managers, they'll happily pick some up for the duration of your stay.
The hotel has a small lift to help with luggage or immobile guests and Wifi is available downstairs in the lobby and is of a satisfactory speed, but reception is weak/unusable in most other areas. The hotel also provides a free shuttle bus until 1900hrs to get you around the local area. The main roads have no pavements and, well, everyone drives Italiano out there. Walking down a main road isn't recommended for all but the brave.
We were lucky enough to get a large suite (Rm 122) as it was our wedding, however even the standard rooms were a comfortable size with plenty of storage and space to move around. The bathrooms are spotless and well appointed and with decent water pressure for the shower, although the temperature can fluctuate slightly at peak usage times - not really an issue.
We had family with us also, and occupied nine rooms in total. Nobody had a complaint, issue or reason to move rooms. Everyone's was spotlessly clean upon arrival and spotlessly cleaned every day. Towels are changed daily and bedding refreshed as required. No need to put either on the floor like in other hotels, it's automatically tended to.
Each room is individually air conditioned and you can set your own comfort levels. Each room also has a balcony with chairs and a sizeable airer complete with pegs to dry off swimwear and beach towels etc. There is also a laundry service available through the hotel should you require it.
The hotel pool and surrounding areas are immaculate. The pool is cleaned daily by the on duty lifeguard and there are enough sun loungers for almost all of the guests, with comfortable cushions and adjustable beds accompanying the scattered parasols. If you're travelling with children, the hotel provide some inflatables, balls and toys - so don't worry about packing your own.
Breakfast is served from 0800-1000hrs daily and you have everything from cereal to patisserie to bacon and eggs. You can even have cake for breakfast if you want to indulge. Of course, fresh coffee is on tap and the barista will make you anything you request, not available at the buffet.
We had lunch a couple of times at the hotel, on days we needed a break from tourism and the food quality was excellent and fairly priced.
Evening meals require booking through reception and again, the food and drink is excellent and well priced. The local wine is of a quality we only expect to find on upper shelves back home. One thing I will say is that as English people, we were given a particular menu. There were also German and Italian guests who were each also given unique menus. It would have been nice to have been offered an alternative menu to dine from but we didn't realise this until our last evening. I'm sure had we realised earlier, Raffaella would have given us the choice.
The 'English Menu' had less authentic local dishes on it than the others and when we saw risotto and mussels coming out for the German and Italian guests, we were a bit disappointed we didn't have the option. A minor complaint though as the food we did get was always perfectly cooked and presented.
All in all, an excellent and memorable stay and we already wish we were there again. Thanks to all the staff for making it such a special time for us all. We'll definitely return!

Very nice hotel. Friendly service. Mini bus to and from the beach. However it only takes a few minutes to walk, albeit a very steep walk back up the hill. The town is very well looked after, especially compared to the bigger places like Pompeii.

We chose to stay at the hotel garden riviera on the advice of our wedding planner Julie. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed with open arms by all of the wonderful hotel staff. Although a small team they work incredibly hard and all play their part in the smooth running of the hotel. All of the hard work is apparent in the spotless rooms, rustic and beautiful decor, delicious food and amazing cocktails!
We had around 50 guests staying at the hotel and were at the gorgeous pool most days, the atmosphere was fantastic the whole time we were there and our guests are still wishing they were back by the pool. Emy and Raffaella who run the hotel are genuine and warm (and very beautiful), we cannot thank them enough for making our stay so special, we will never forget the memories we shared during our stay and can't wait to come back and visit as soon as we can.
We travelled throughout Italy during our wedding and honeymoon and I can genuinely say you will not find a nicer or more reasonably priced hotel with better service anywhere. If you want a genuine hotel in a stunning location please stay at the hotel garden riviera you will not be disappointed. The town of Santa Maria and the surrounding area is simply beautiful, it is a true gem of a place. In my opinion Italy's best kept secret. We love you hotel garden riviera! ❤️🇮🇹😍 x

We hired a car from Naples and drove down which was easy enough. However you can take the train and taxi. Do negotiate directly with the hotel because you will de a better price. Friends of mine did that.
The hotel has a car service from the hotel. But most of us walked and was a good stretch of the legs. You also get to see more of the town if you walk.
