Positives included; good location for exploring Tuscany, help from Carmen and Alessandro re travelling/parking to Florence, use of bike for one morning, quiet and peace, lovely swimming pool, use of laundry facilities, nearby food shop, little private garden to sit in. Areas for improvement experienced by us during (almost) two week stay included; arrived at 2 instead of 3 after...

Molinello, Proprietario at Agriturismo Il Molinello, responded to this review

My apologies for not responding sooner. I want you to know we take all feedback to heart and felt it was very important to respond, regardless of the time that has passed. Thank you for the many positive aspects you outlined. You really captured Il Molinello's essence. Although we never like to hear guests had a negative experience, we thank...

2-room apartment was comfortable and well equipped, with a very nice private garden. The owners are very helpful and providing the excellent service. Breakfasts are very rich and tasteful with a great variety of local products, and served in an impressive old room. It was a real pleasure to go there every morning.

This last March 2009 we (my husband, son, girlfriend and I) were in Central Italy and stayed at the Agriturismo it Molinello near Asciano. We highly recommended staying there. 1. The owners Alessandro & Elisa take such pride in preserving the history of the area. One of hi-lites was the morning that Alessandro showed us the Etruscan ruin (700 BC)...

Spending a whole summer in Tuscany is a dream that came to life in 2008 and Il Molinello is the setting where it all happened. Il Molinello is a place of beauty but above all it is a place where you are surrounded by graciousness. Some nights, I would lie in the hamac just admiring the beauty of the main...

We recently went on the best vacation of our 47 years together. We were so fortunate to have had Roberto Benti as our tour guide on his “Chianti Tour”. He arranged for us to stay at Il Molinello Agriturisimo which is just about 30 kilometers southeast of Siena and is situated out in the beautiful heart of the Crete Senesi....

All: My wife and I just returned to Belgium [I'm from CA, USA] after our two week honeymoon at Il Molinello in Asciano and had to write a review for you. We LOVED the place and especially the owners/operators. Sandro, Elisa and Carmen are down-to-earth people who enjoy what they do... and it shows! They bent over backwards to make...

Wow! This is what you will think when you will arrive in the area of Rapolano Terme. All these white hills, the beautiful landscape and the relaxing experience of Thermal Baths... Wow! More than one reason for choosing this accomodation: the owner of the house are really friendly, the home-made breakfast is superb, the rooms are so nice... And it...

This was the second time I went to Rapolano Terme. I thought that it wasn't possible to find something better in the world than Chianti region, and I was wrong. First you have to see the Crete Senesi and staying around Rapolano. The city is nothing special, but you can't miss the countryside and the therms! And your journey will...

I stayed in the apartment il Pini for a week in May of this year. The apartment is very spacious with large rooms. The bedroom has two twin beds made as a king and is quite comfortable. The windows open and have screens to prevent summer buggies. The bathroom is large and has a good sized shower. I loved the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
In 1996 we moved to the Crete Senesi and we fell in love with the Molinello: Etruscan origins, medieval mill, peace and tranquility. That's why we decided to share it with our guests. The farm keeps the whole family busy: Alessandro (biologist, nature guide and Sommelier), Elisa who looks after the administration, Mauro and Paola, retired but full time busy on the farm. And we hope that in the future even Emma, Guido and Bernardo will give us a helping hand. We produce vegetables and fruit, olive oil and truffles from organic agriculture.F or our guests we organize a rich program of initiatives discovering the colours and flavours of the Crete, organic homemade breakfast, wine tasting in our cosy winery, cooking lessons, olive oil tastings, wine tours, and excursions by bike guided by Alessandro who is fond of cycling. Only 4 km from our farm there are the thermal baths of Rapolano which grant special discounts to our guests. ... more   less
