– Perched on a hill top overlooking the spectacular lands of Tuscany and surrounded by the enchanting beauty of Chianti, Villa Le Calvane is an estate dating from the 15th century now reborn as a retreat for the most discerning travellers. After an extensive renovation, the Hotel opens its doors on April 19th, 2017 under the patronage of a group of five charismatic investors known for developing exclusive properties and estates throughout the world. Surrounded by olive trees and vineyards in the land that borders Florence and Siena the property is located in one-of-a-kind landscape rich in culture and tradition, home of the most elegant and refined Sangiovese, a name that is a collection of styles and passionate loyalty for the magnificent wine produced by the Estate itself and other producers of the area. The renovation has fully restored the ancient beauty of the Villa ensuring the property retains evidence of its use during the centuries, as well as the sumptuous spaces of each room. The objective has been to conceive a place where guests can truly experience the genius loci, in an elegant environment characterized by understated luxury and a sublime charm created through perfect balance between tradition and modernity. The Castle of Montegufoni towers in front of the Villa while Florence is 26 km (16mi) away and Siena, the villages of San Gimignano, Greve in Chianti, Monteriggioni and Volttera are all easy accessible by car or one of the private tours organized by the Hotel. Destinations worth visiting for a journey of discovery or relaxing vacation on the hills of Tuscany. Where the intriguing testaments of the Middle Age and the marvellous arts of the Renaissance blend in the culinary experiences, the lively local folklore, the iconic architecture and indigenous craftsmanship. The Hotel features 12 of the most spacious suites in Chianti ranging from minimum 35m2 (390ft2) to 75m2 (800 ft2) and also provides a private 3 bedrooms Villa ideal for families and groups of friends. Other distinctive features are: the outdoor infinity pool, Jacuzzi and children’s pool, the panoramic function room and gardens for events & celebration, luxe in-room amenities and an onsite restaurant that serves locally sourced product prepared for a captivating journey in a researched Tuscan cuisine. The mission shared with all staff members at Villa Le Calvane is to offer experiences of outstanding quality, personal interaction and bespoke services that satisfy the needs and tastes of our selective customers.

Sublime experience. We had a wonderful 5 day stay at Le Calvane Villa. The property is perched a top of a hill with gorgeous views of the surrounding Tuscan landscape. Upon arriving we were welcomed warmly. Our room was a 2 bedroom suite, extremely well appointed with Acqua di Parma toiletries, beautiful furnishings, luxurious bathrooms and views of the Tuscan hills and pool. Every single member of the staff went above and beyond to make our stay as special as possible. We are so thankful for all of them, they were all so kind and welcoming. I think this was the best hospitality I've ever experienced so far. The restaurant, La Terrazza, is wonderful and we had dinner there several times. The food is wonderful and the view is incredible. Le Calvane produces their own wines and olive oil, both of which are top quality and we enjoyed them during our stay (the Tuscan Cabernet Sauvignon is some of the best we've had) and their extra virgin olive oil is fantastic. The villa was originally build during the 1600s but went thru an extensive 11 million euro renovation around 2016, now the only 5 star hotel in the tiny village of Montespertoli. Easy to get around to other villages around Tuscany and only an easy 40 minute drive from Florence. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Enjoying their great wines while watching the sun set over the hills was a beautiful experience and, frankly, it is a place I would definitely return.

We were lucky enough to stay in the Villa on property for 4 nights. I wish we could have stayed longer. The villa was perfection but the property and the staff were beyond perfection. it truly is Paradise. The only mistake we made was trying to leave the property for dinner. I highly recommend that you stay on property the whole time except for perhaps a truffle hunting excursion. They restaurant had the absolute best food of our entire trip, I had an amazing massage and the staff is literally willing to meet any need or want with a smile. There could not be a better place in all of Tuscany. Plus the view- to die for.

This hotel is the best hotel we have ever stayed in. The hotel, food, service and scenery is incredible and this is certainly a hotel we will never forget.

Accommodation: We stayed in a upgraded suite but all the suites here are incredible. Our room was very spacious and had a living room, bathroom and bedroom. All bedrooms are decorated with traditional Italian decor and everything is finished to the highest standard.

Restaurant: First of all the terrace is set in the most beautiful location. The scenery is insane and we loved watching the sunset every evening, this never got old. We ate here most evenings (and everyday for breakfast) and although the menu is selective, everything you eat is amazing. We had the steak most nights and this never ever disappointed especially accompanied with delicious wine.

Location: The location is about 40 minutes from Florence, however this hotel is definitely worth the drive. As previously mentioned the scenery is something which cannot be explained, it is picture perfect something you see on a postcard.

This hotel on a whole is immaculate and feels very exclusive. The staff could not be anymore accommodating and are willing to go above and beyond.

This hotel will hold a special place in our hearts and I hope one day we can return...until next time.

What is exceptional about this hotel is its staff. All extremely friendly and helpful with a special mention to Gemma and Paolo who went out of their way to make our stay memorable!! However, what spoilt our stay was the accomodation - how you can provide a suite without a single window in what is truly one of the most spectacular vistas on earth is a tad criminal!! Have the decency to mention the room - attic really has no windows and it’s up to the paying guest to decide whether he wants to book or not. It spoilt or stay here completely as it was not only claustrophobic but we felt totally ripped off!! A view to die for and it felt like a box!! Shame on you Villa Le Calvane.

Where to begin with Villa Le Calvane - when my husband and I were looking into where we should stay in our few days in Tuscany, there were several options but Villa Le Calvane had such amazing reviews on its service that we decided to book this place! And the service was truly perfect. The staff are so accommodating, friendly, and attentive from the very minute you walk in. While there were definitely other guests staying at the same time as us, with the amazing service we received - we felt like we were the only guests. The location can't be beat (only 30 minutes from Florence) with breathtaking views all around! We came to Tuscany with no wine tastings booked but their concierge service quickly went to work booking a few tastings for us. Thank you to Marco, Keiko, and the rest of the Villa Le Calvane staff who made our Tuscan stay truly memorable.

We stayed at this wonderful boutique hotel for the second year in a row. We were in Rome before driving to Villa La Calvane for 5 days. Everything about the hotel is superlative. The food, the lovely staff, ambience and views combine to make this a very special place. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and you feel looked after from the moment you arrive until the (sad) moment we left. We will visit again.

Absolutely amazing all around. Amzing views, amazing room, amazing food! Francesco was amazing! Leo was amazing! AMzing views! Amazing pool! My wife and 2 kids (11,7) really enjoyed our stay. We were so tired from our day trips that we ate at the Villa almost every night.Chef is fantastic - and those views every night! The breakfast is included and the kids couldnt wait to wake up and see what was waiting for them. Loved the 2 bedroom/2 bath room we had so that we didnt need sepearte rooms. This is the perfect spot to stay in Northern Tuscany!

My husband and I have been dreaming of Tuscany for many years. We chose Villa Le Calvane for our stay and it did not disappoint. The staff was extremely friendly, informative, and accommodating. They made us feel like VIPs from check in to check out. The said they have issues with Apple products connecting to their WiFi but they are working on correcting the problem. The atmosphere was very peaceful and the view of the Tuscan hillside and vineyards were absolutely breathtaking. The food, wine, and olive oil were sensational and left a lasting impression. We happily recommend Villa Le Calvane to all our friends, family, and to you!

We stayed here after a few days in Florence to unwind.
The property is gorgeous and the views are breathtaking.
We had a two bedroom suite since we needed to do some work. Rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are nice and big.
The whole property feels more like the house of a very wealthy and chic couple who let you stay.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner (if you want) are served on the terrace with great views.
We had dinner there twice basically because the first time was so good. We then also had lunch just to try out some of the other dishes.
I had the risotto twice, it was divine. The spaghetti pomodore and the trofie with pesto are spectacular.
Not a single dish disappointed.
Wine from their vineyard is high quality, as is their olive oil.
Service is impeccable.
The pool is lovely.
Use the gym and do some stretching on the terrace of the gym overlooking the valley - I did and will never forget the peace and calm.
We wish we could have stayed more days.
The only issue - pls FIX YOUR WIFI….it is spotty and makes working challenging at time.

I don’t believe the pool is heated. We went beginning of May and the weather was a bit chilly with a few days of rain. We stood out by the pool but it was definitely not warm enough to go in. Definitely bring a jacket and some bug spray. It’s much warmer in Florence, Rome and Almafi at that time.
