The people are lovely! The setting unbelievable!! Hotel rooms are large and beautiful. Food was very good. The pool overlooking the hills is magnificent!! They need more service around pool but you eventually get service!!
The entrance to this property is immediately preceded by a junk yard. There is hardly any staff on hand, and it is dead quiet. None of that compares, however, to the false description of the accommodations. There is, in fact, no "spacious balcony and exclusive seating" as described on Villa Le Calvane's own web site for Executive Suites. The staff admitted its web site is wrong, yet the deception remains.... Go to Villa San Michele instead; we did, and oh what a truly 5-star place it is!
My wife and I stayed at Villa Le Calvane for 4 nights after a few nights in the city in Florence. It was an amazingly surreal and relaxing experience. The property was one of the most beautiful places we've ever seen from the Villa, the pool, the gym, the terrace for breakfasts, lunches and dinners, and the surrounding vineyard and olive groves. We had the top floor suite which was exceptional with this massive window overlooking the Tuscan country side. We took a cooking class with Chef Francesco that was a wonderful experience, personable and friendly, patient and personable. We spent our days enjoying the lovely breakfast, off to the gym, then laying out at the pool drinking local wine or Alessio's famous Negronis, followed by wonderful long relaxing lunches on the terrace, then walks through the vineyards with wild rosemary and lavender all around us, off to the best sunsets you will ever see, then magnificent dinners at night. Grazie mille to Eva, Mirko, Alessio, Rebecca, and Alesso for making our trip very special.…
We stayed here after a few days in Florence to unwind. The property is gorgeous and the views are breathtaking. We had a two bedroom suite since we needed to do some work. Rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are nice and big. The whole property feels more like the house of a very wealthy and chic couple who let you stay. Breakfast, lunch and dinner (if you want) are served on the terrace with great views. We had dinner there twice basically because the first time was so good. We then also had lunch just to try out some of the other dishes. I had the risotto twice, it was divine. The spaghetti pomodore and the trofie with pesto are spectacular. Not a single dish disappointed. Wine from their vineyard is high quality, as is their olive oil. Service is impeccable. The pool is lovely. Use the gym and do some stretching on the terrace of the gym overlooking the valley - I did and will never forget the peace and calm. We wish we could have stayed more days. The only issue - pls FIX YOUR WIFI….it is spotty and makes working challenging at time.…
We were lucky enough to stay in the Villa on property for 4 nights. I wish we could have stayed longer. The villa was perfection but the property and the staff were beyond perfection. it truly is Paradise. The only mistake we made was trying to leave the property for dinner. I highly recommend that you stay on property the whole time except for perhaps a truffle hunting excursion. They restaurant had the absolute best food of our entire trip, I had an amazing massage and the staff is literally willing to meet any need or want with a smile. There could not be a better place in all of Tuscany. Plus the view- to die for.
Having read the amazing reviews for Villa Le Calvane, we selected it as the initial stop on a multi-region Italy holiday to celebrate our daughter's college graduation. Imagine having a close family member who is hosting you at their spectacular hilltop Tuscan villa – that is Le Calvane. Upon arrival, we were greeted at our car by Rosida, who had already arranged countless activities for us (and along with Eva and Claudia took care of everything throughout our 4-day stay). While checking in, the owners (Mr. and Mrs. Scatarzi) welcomed us and ensured they would take care of all our needs. The Room – We reserved a 2-bedroom suite with a spectacular view of the breath-taking Tuscan hills and relaxing infinity pool. It was spacious, luxurious, and loaded with amenities. The Food – On our first night we chose to dine on property at La Terrazza and were treated to amazing cocktails, an incredible dinner, and a sunset we will remember for a lifetime. The menus offered variety and an authentic Tuscan culinary experience. The Wine -- we intended to go on some local wine tours, but made it no further than the ornate lobby Wine Bar inside the main villa. How amazing was the wine and selection? We shipped home a case! The Service -- Wow. While you expect a 5-star property to deliver premium service, Le Calvane took it to another level. In addition to the front desk/concierge staff mentioned previously, we had the good fortune of getting to know Mirko, who ran everything related to the restaurant and bar. He and the amazing staff (Paolo, Francesca, Marco, Keiko and Alessio) made sure every meal was unforgettable for the guests, and even directed a “wedding of a lifetime” on the back lawn. We cannot say enough about Le Calvane, and can only hope we are blessed to return again in the future.…
We had 8 nights at the Montegufoni castle within walking distance and while walking in the area, we decided to stop in and see the place. It's a very impressive hotel, quite upscale. We were so impressed we booked dinner and had a great time. Great food, service, ambiance. Thinking about coming back to stay here in the future!
Where to begin with Villa Le Calvane - when my husband and I were looking into where we should stay in our few days in Tuscany, there were several options but Villa Le Calvane had such amazing reviews on its service that we decided to book this place! And the service was truly perfect. The staff are so accommodating, friendly, and attentive from the very minute you walk in. While there were definitely other guests staying at the same time as us, with the amazing service we received - we felt like we were the only guests. The location can't be beat (only 30 minutes from Florence) with breathtaking views all around! We came to Tuscany with no wine tastings booked but their concierge service quickly went to work booking a few tastings for us. Thank you to Marco, Keiko, and the rest of the Villa Le Calvane staff who made our Tuscan stay truly memorable.…
We had such a wonderful stay at Villa Le Calvane. The property is absolutely stunning. The rooms are gorgeous and spacious, and the pool and outdoor areas are beautiful. It is straight out of a Tuscan dream. More importantly, the staff went over and above to make sure our stay was extra special. They were very kind and accommodating. Definitely would recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice relaxing vacation in Tuscany. Can’t wait to go back!
This is an incredible place to stay for a relaxing luxury stay. The hotel is in a picturesque Tuscan village. The drive in is spectacular. Once at the hotel, you are greeted by a staff who is happy to assist in any way. The room was very nice (we stayed in an Executive Suite) -- spacious. Only downside is the patio where meals are served are right outside the room. The grounds are beautiful, with a lovely pool overlooking a gorgeous mountainside. The staff arranged a beautiful romantic private dinner for us. all in all, a beautiful stay in a beautiful location.
