Just before you think you missed the right turn and you are lost in the countryside of Toscana you find yourself in a magic place. You do not need to be a poems writer or a painter to seat outside and appreciate the beauty of hills after hills of the most beautiful countryside of Italy. The view leaves you speechless...

We spent several days exploring the area again - this is our 3rd time to Tuscany and we really enjoyed our stay at Podere Spedalone. What Alessandro and his team have managed to do here is a real credit. He manages to wrap up a relaxed homely Inn with a farm that has animals and land that produces wine and...

The peace and quiet of the countryside makes for a beautiful day. The meal was one to remember especially the fried vegetables. The wine selected to accompany the lunch was perfect. Each course had a uniqueness that set it apart from other restaurants. Take the journey to the country and relax enjoy a meal that you won't forget.

We spent several days at Spedalone reveling in the quiet, the wood ceilings of the 100's year old structure. The food is wonderful because simple dishes prepared with sophisticated preparation fresh from their farm. Our host Allesandro is charming without being imposing. The setting in the hill towns provides the most desirable vistas of rolling hills and farmland. A pastoral...

Spedalone has beautiful vistas, comfortable rooms and the whole farm is unbelievable. There are centuries old olive trees, a working garden, animals, and bee hives which produce spectacular honey. The meals are like eating at your Nonna's house, beautiful fresh ingredients many of which are produced right on the farm. But what really made this a memorable visit was the...

I emplore you to stay here. My girlfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights in August and we can't wait to go back. Alessandro, Giancarlo and Dario are the kindest hosts- they make you feel like you are at home. The setting is unbelievably beautiful, rustic and peaceful. If you are looking for the Tuscan hills, rolling landscapes, wonderful...

This place is gorgeous. The views are stunning and the building itself is just incredible. Alessandro and Dario are the perfect Italian hosts - so fun, friendly and helpful. They feel like old friends after just two days. My favorite thing was the chance to have a delicious meal together at night with other guests, talking, laughing, and eating together...

I had a lovely time in agriturismo podere spedalone. I was on a road cycling trip around Tuscany organised by a company based in the Uk. I stayed one night. There's a bit of a walk with the road bikes along a track to get to the place but it's not too long. The accommodation was really attractive with comfortable...

We stayed here as part of a large road cycling group, and it was excellent. Rooms were comfortable, the pool and views was stunning, and the food was wholesome and plentiful. The hosts couldn't have been more welcoming. Definately the best agroturismo we have stayed in, during our two-week holiday in Tuscany. You have to go there

> The intent was to stay for one night, the end result was we stayed for two, but the truth? We were sorely tempted never to leave. > > The setting - a backdrop of dusty browns and parched yellow-greens. The rolling hills of Tuscany: flat and undulating save for the sparse trees and occasional stone building peppering the landscape....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Podere Spedalone dates back to the 8th century, when it was a place of shelter for pilgrims bound for Rome, situated as it is on the Via Francigena, or Frankish Route. It nestles, perfectly at ease, among the Crete Senesi and, after strictly conservational restoration, begun in 2004 and completed in 2006, it is now the ideal spot for anyone wishing to refresh spirit, senses, mind and body. ... more   less
