Excellent location next to beach and local bars and restaurants. Kids loved the water park. Clean hotal and friendly staff. We never ate their can’t review the food, the drinks in the evening were below standard though and expensive expect to pay more in a hotel as is normal but not for poor quality. However five stars for the location and cleanliness.
Good: breakfast, water park, clean rooms Bad: animation too loud both at the pool during the day and in the night. Then there are also the people around the hotel that were having a great night out. It is impossible to sleep in room 414. Apart from that, we had a noisy air conditioning plant beneath our window, the beds felt like bricks, air conditioning not working and we were having a heatwave. There was a fan though!
I booked Playasol for myself my sister and her 8 yr old daughter as I had heard Almeria was beautiful and weather was good but mainly because it was UK half term and being an Aquapark assumed there would be other kids around and that the park would be open!! On arrival we were given a twin room with sofa bed which ok was quite small with limited storage and pretty outdated decor BUT it was clean and we only needed it fir sleeping only downside was no kettle or cups etc which would have been nice to make a cuppa! Food was Ok, pretty limited choice and pretty much same each day but again what was on offer very nice and hot ...... but if you don’t like pork you’re stuffed Lol!! Obviously the season was coming to an end hence limitation in everything! Bar staff and hotel staff were all lovely and very friendly but their English wasn’t fabulous , then again neither was our Spanish !! 🤣🤣😂😂 We got by! Hotel activities were the biggest let down for us as there wasn’t much at all for our little one to do, most of the kids that were there were French/ German or Belgium so language barriers were quite tricky! There was a little limited kids club which in the days she went savannah enjoyed but some days there were literally 2 kids! The most disappointing aspect though was the fact the Aquapark slides were closed, there were a few pools though so not an entire travesty! The grounds were immaculate always people around cleaning! The saving grace was the beach which was literally half a minute walk, even though it was fine shale it was beautiful and we spent time every day on it, again exceptionally clean! All in all Almeria and in particular Roquetas De Mar is simply stunning but the only thing I would say is don’t book Oct half term as everywhere is shutting down!! …
Short break to celebrate one of our groups birthday. On the whole the hotel is ok but in need of updating. The pool areas are lovely and well maintained, the rooms definitely need updating and the bar and restaurant areas are a bit dull. We only had breakfast at the hotel, for me it was fine as I don't eat a cooked breakfast, for those who do the selection was poor. The spa is super and the staff very helpful and friendly. A nice touch was a bottle of Cava in our room when we arrived. To sum up the hotel is clean and comfortable but the decor is a bit tired and dated. It's right on the beach and there are some very nice restaurants nearby.
We were lucky, very nice room with a terrace and sea view. The garden was full of ibiscus in flowers and palma trees. The sea is about 100 metres, lot of wild waves, not suitable for small children. Very good for children older than 10 years. The restaurant offers delicius food. You meet there spanish families, relaxed cool friendly people. We recommend.
