Five of us came here for a business lunch today. We were greeted with a warm welcome and given a choice of tables including a comfy settee. We chose the normal table and four of us had fish and chips and the other chap had a burger. It wasn't quick in arriving but was lovely and well cooked. The chips...

Stayed in on of their top graded rooms, which was large with a very comfortable bed. It perhaps lacked a few refinements one might expect, for example there were no herbal tea options in the room, no room safe and an iron is available but only on request. This particular room also had a rather strange wardrobe formed from a...

Having had Sunday lunch here a couple of years ago and not wanted to return, I was more than a little anxious when one of my most important clients booked in and arranged dinner here. The service is 'ok' though the waiting staff do need to be more informed about the menu. Food arrived relatively promptly and I was pleasantly...

We were looking out for a venue for a birthday dinner - excellent starter and main course and one decent dessert. We weren't so impressed with a chocolate dish but this was nicely resolved. The service was first class and we are looking forward to going back.

We've been a few times recently for the evening which has always been good. Polite staff and a lovely bar with an open fire which is always welcoming. New Year's Eve when we stayed so saw the hotel rooms for the first time which are very modern and clean. Comfortable bed. Thank you for a great time.

Arrived at around 4 pm for a 2 night stay. From the website I expected the rooms to be better than they are. Bed is comfy though and the hotel is quiet. Although the doors slam shut. Bathroom is very dated and hardly any room to turn round int he shower thanks to a hand rail on the wall. Light...

Excellent value. New Years eve package for one night, in spacious comfortable room, very good 3 course evening meal with welcoming drink, good dance music and tasty buffet breakfast in the morning. £109 pp. Note for future: the majority of guests wore back dinner suites and long dresses for the evening meal/party. I'd go to the Potters Heron again for...

Stayed at the Potter's Heron between Christmas and New Year, whilst visiting family locally. The hotel staff were helpful, friendly, approachable, and professional. Room was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed. Breakfast was excellent, and lunches/dinners were also excellent. Only slight niggle was to have to pay double room rate on New Year's Eve, but not to have any...

we arrived on Christmas Day evening and left four days later. The room was super king-size (twin beds joined) with a good bathroom (shower over the bath), balcony and view over woodland. It was quiet. Breakfast provided a substantial start to the day with a fair range of good quality choices. We stopped to dinner once and that was a...

I have stayed here many times over the years. But never again. I don't mind that the hotel has become a bit sad and run down. I don't even mind that the staff now struggle to speak English. I also don't mind that as a result of this the staff come across as being rude (And regard customers as nothing...
