Stayed here for one night late booking as I was heading up north. It was absolutely perfect. Spotlessly clean and modem with nice finishing touches in the rooms. The staff were very friendly and chatty made you feel most welcome. The place had not fully opened back up after lockdown so no restaurant but we ate a lovely meal at the sister hotel. Food was delicious.

Unfortunately, my daughter was unable to stay here because of COVID 19 restrictions but their pre visit service cannot be faulted. I had booked a one-night stay as a gift. Initially I contacted the hotel with 2 or 3 questions. The response was prompt, pleasant and personal. Due to my uncertainty regarding the various restrictions across the UK we had further communication which was courteous and helpful. Unfortunately, they had to cancel. The hotel contacted both me and my daughter and refunded the deposit. I hope their business can endure through these difficult times. If this pre stay service is an indication of the hotel, I would certainly recommend it.

The waitress who checked us in reeled off a liteney of Covid dos and don’ts, which proved to us they take Covid security seriously here. The whole place looks newly decorated, clean and stylish. Our room was spacious, comfortable with a very modern bathroom. Wi-fi worked very well. Breakfast in the morning was again a Covid safe environment, the friendly proprietor served us with all our cold and hot drink and food. It was a quality breakfast throughout. So as a B&B, this a 5 star establishment I’d recommend to everyone ... but ... We found the restaurant lacking. Firstly they “lost” our 7pm booking and by the time they “fitted us in” it was 8:15 and packed with EOTHO diners. The menu is relatively small but there’s enough choice ... I went for fish cake to start and lamb rump for main. The fish cakes were tasteless and the cabbage served with lamb too tough to eat. They were so busy it took over an hour to get our main course out. Service and food quality did not match the high prices charged on the evening we visited.

Took a week's break here and found plenty to do without too much travelling. Had a lovely room with a great view of open fields, sheep and a church. Lovely comfy room with a great bathroom and shower. The evening meal menu was a little inhibiting especially for a 7 night stay but the food was excellent quality but rather limited in choice. However the staff at the hotel were incredible. They were so friendly and helpful. Great credit to them during this difficult time.

A fabulous place. We had room 7 and it was perfect. A large room with a bath in the room and separate shower room, beautifully decorated. The staff were all lovely. The restaurant had a great atmosphere and the food was exceptional, both breakfast and the evening meal. The weather was perfect and we enjoyed sitting in the garden and patio area at the front, with a glass of wine. Could not fault it.
