We were looking for somewhere to explore Bath from and it is a good location for that purpose. I had thought it was in walking distance, but the hills are pretty serious and I guess it would be an hour or so to walk. Nice pub, good food, good menu. I find it hard to rate independent pubs honestly, as...

Located 2.5 miles from Bath this is an excellent base for exploring Bath and the surrounding countryside. This is an old building in a quaint village with bedrooms located in various outbuildings, all have full facilties. Ample residents parking. The pub is quiet and relaxed with fires in winter, it is mainly a dining pub with a good selection of...

My wife, brother and sister-in-law and I have just enjoyed a wonderful weekend break in Bath and we feel so fortunate to have found a little gem in The Wheelwright's Arms. The bedrooms were spacious and very comfortable and the bathrooms very well appointed. Our bathroom had a large bath with handheld shower, which did cause an initial problem with...

Great room but only a bath with shower attachment, food was lovely and the staff very helpful. I would come back but would prefer a shower instead of a bath, even though the bath was a good size. Easy to get to the city as well.

Had been recommended to try and was really pleased we did the food was extremely good maybe a little expensive but maybe I'm more aware of the cost having just retired from running my own pub for the last 9 years than most but we would go again. I had the macaroni cheese which is probably the best I've had...

Our room was lovely, very clean and comfortable. We didn't eat at venue however but did have drinks in the bar which was very pleasant. Tucked away but found using Google maps easily. Would stay again if in Bath.

One of the best places we've overnighted as a couple. The room was classical, with comfortable bed, elegant bathroom, warm, all the little touches that make such a difference. Wifi was really fast. The pub has a log fire (in Feb), a good choice of real ales and cider and delightful staff serving. Our evening meal was excellent and good...

We brought a friend this time and we all enjoyed our lunch. We all had a starter - I think I had a terrine of some sort served on crispy bread with big capers, delicious. I went for the pheasant saltimbocca again, one of us had the venison burger and the other had sea bass. All well prepared and cooked...

Sadly gone downhill . Menu reduced and quality of food . White wine medium price and yet tasted cheap and not chilled . Staff not very happy when asked for colder wine . Steak was good but chips tasted of old fat and tomato that came with it was a cheap tasteless tomato rather than previously small vine tomato ....

It is always disappointing to receive bad reviews, but especially from regular customers who we have known well for many years. We felt that your behaviour on the night in question was petty and unacceptable. That you decided not to talk to your waitress, but to only speak through your husband, shows that you probably weren't in a reasonable state...
