This hostel is adorable and not too difficult to find with a gps. The staff were super friendly and helpful, the rooms and bathrooms were clean and there is a restaurant where breakfast is included (bread, jam and coffee). You can buy drinks and dinner at the restaurant too. Very cute and friendly, would stay again.

Well, I went there alone, but I never felt alone. The staff is polite, and helping a lot, they told us the best part of the island, where we can see the most beautiful sports. When you are going to Guadeloupe dont forget to rent a car, because its really hilly and the hostel is also on a hill.

My first stay in Guadeloupe was in a private room at this lovely hostel for a weekend before starting my business trip. This is a place where you will feel like home. Very chill and cosy, The hostel has a beautiful terrace and a nice view towards the ocean and a very welcoming and helpful staff. Diverse activities are organized...

Clean, airy and welcoming staff - even to us who do not speak much/any French :-) Pretty cheap (for Guadeloupe) We stayed in a private room, but my overall impression was of laid-back people, and a very chilled, relaxed and quiet atmosphere. Perfect for exploring Guadeloupe, though the drive to Basse Terre is a litte long. If you hire a...

Good experience at the E.Gwada hostel. It is clean, with a nice terrace/bar with great view. The atmosphere is warm and there is the opportunity to meet a lot of other travellers. For few euros more you can have breakfast and also dinner included. Staff is friendly and available for help, airport transfer, renting a car, tips on excursions.

My stay in Guadeloupe got prolonged for a few weeks, but thanks E. Gwada hostel this turned out to be a very pleasant experience. The hostel is very affordable and though you are not allowed to bring your own food, it is no problem as Jean's home cooked food is both cheap and delicious. Traveling alone as a non-French speaker...

There is a sign declaring this the best hostel in Guadeloupe. Don't be impressed, it's the ONLY hostel so it could also be classified as the worst. The location is not easy to find with few signposts until you're there. It's definitely NOT in Gosier. We drove around in the dark for 90mins trying to find us until a helpful...

This is the only hostel in the entire Island of Guadeloupe. If you're a budget traveler, unfortunately you might not have a choice. No warm water in the showers, no AC on the main dorm or a mere fan (18 people capacity...) instead window is left open without a net from which all sorts of bugs including mosquitos that sting...

Happy New Year!! First of all I want to say that we are the only hostel of Guadeloupe, but if you are a budget traveler and have just a certain amount of money, you can`t expect a five star hotel. There is a big difference between 20€ per night for the bed in the dorm or 200€ for a hotel...

The team gives all the best, that guest feel at home. Nice athmosphere. At the small bar you can get a drink and talk to nice People. The single room was clean and quiet. It´s no Problem to use the showers. It feels like to be in a big private house, where you also have to go from your bedroom...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
E. Gwada Hostel is a youth hostel with a team of young and committed people. It is situated in Gosier, in the heights of St. Felix. Our location offers you a beautiful view on the sea, Basse-Terre and the south of Grande-Terre. The hostel was created to offer a lodging and catering for an accessible price so that everyone, regardless of his budget, to discover and experience this beautiful and wonderful island called Guadeloupe. At first we were only able to welcome 10, later 20 people in private rooms, dorm rooms and tents. Since July 2014 we opted for a traditional Creole villa with three levels. The rooms and the dorm room are bigger, the restaurant and bar are in progress in order to be able to receive even more guests. The swimming pool is expected to be operational in March. We accommodate guests from 16 to 99 years ... more   less
