We loved our stay at Posada Olivar and most of it was due to Jose, the owner. We felt treated like family from day one and he even grilled amazing traditional parrilla for all the guests when everything was closed due to national census holiday. Our room was huge with a very comfortable bed, lots of storage space, a living...

What a good choice it was to come here during my travelling through Argentina! Being so far from my own country, this place felt like home, but the room was bigger than my own bedroom though ; ) The service is great and very personal in a relaxed way, the owner Jose Luis very kind and surely must love what...

Nothing could have worked better for a relaxed stay after a stressful week of work. We enjoyed the absolute tranquility of the place, the beautiful parks surrounding the rooms, the sound of birds, the sun graciously coming through old trees. Jose Luis was very helpful at all hours and a great hostess to suggest things to do and arrange for...

We spent several nights at Posada Olivar and it was simply excellent. Jose and his employees went out of there way to make sure that everything was perfect. The breakfast each morning was great. Beyond providing an excellent experience at Posada Olivar, Jose set up our winery tours (including a great, affordable driver), a day at the hot spring spa...

Best accommodation for our week trip in Mendoza. The B&B has character, breakfasts were delicious and plentiful -- sandwiches, juice, pastries, great bread and outstanding homemade jams, fruit, coffee and tea. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. For example, from the moment we arrived we felt very taken care of by Jose, the owner, he is friendly and so...

All the previous reviews are spot on. There are not the words to adequately describe the utter beauty and peacefulness of this B&B. And that is just the grounds. The room was the biggest and best room we have ever seen at a B&B (we have stayed in B&Bs all over Europe, Canada and South America). The concern of this...

During our recent trip to Argentina and Brazil, we stayed in 7 different bed and breakfasts and Posada Olivar was definitely the highlight. The posada is in Chacras de Coria, a beautiful little town away from the hustle bustle of Mendoza (but only 20 mins away from down town by taxi). The Posada itself occupies a large block of land...

This is the place to stay when visiting Mendoza. The cordial owner, beautiful grounds and convenient location make it an easy choice. Chacras is a bit of an oasis amidst the dry lands of Mendoza and Posada Olivar is the jewel of the oasis. Jose Luis, the posada owner and manager, is a wealth of info and extremely helpful in...

Three friends and I stayed at Posada Olivar for 4 days over New Years 2010. Posada Olivar and the town of Chacras de Coria were perfect picks. Our rooms were spotless, spacious and comfortable. There is an outside sitting area directly off the rooms and we enjoyed lounging there in the afternoons and evening. We also enjoyed the pool. Breakfast...

This review is way overdue, but I swore that I would get around to getting it on TA. Based on prior TA reviews, my wife and I decided to base our Mendoza stay at Posada Olivar....and we LOVED it. I am glad to say that we were thoroughly thrilled with all aspects of our stay. From initial planning, Jose (the...

“The posada has a total of 5 or 6 rooms, most of which are on the ground floor with a large patio with a lovely seating area directly facing the garden and a swimming pool. We stayed in one of the middle rooms and it was quiet, fresh and nice to socialise with other guests enjoying the patio. The room was large and spacious enough to fit 3 girls and all our suitcases with a king (and I mean KING) size bed and a single bed, big bathroom and a closet. Jose even offered to add another bed but there was no need. No A/C but there was no need for it even in the middle of the summer as the room never got hot and the night breeze was so refreshing.”
