Stayed as a large group and found this place ticked all the boxes. Very clean, quiet and inviting and such good value, allowing privacy in the pretty grounds. Highly recommended. Breakfast was a nice added bonus as was fruit from the trees. A great spot for checking out the Hawkes bay region

Right from viewing the Cottages on the web this was a great experience. We were able to check availability, and book and pay our deposit on line, no emails back and forth. The directions were spot on, and the greeting from Sandra and her family, including the dog, was warm, friendly, helpful and informative. So we just knew that Fantail...

We had a fabulous stay here. Sandra was so welcoming and friendly on our arrival and it was such a nice touch to have breakfast supplies provided. The cottage and gardens are beautiful and peaceful and in a great location too - easy drive into Napier and lots of nice wineries in the area. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely place, more beautiful than the photos can tell. Cottages elegantly designed and furnished, surrounded by incredibly stylish garden. Owned by a warm, easy going family. Extra plus: you can hire bicycles there. We cycled to Art Deco town Napier.

This accommodation was one of our favourites in New Zealand. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean, with good cooking facilities. There are lots of activity options to keep you busy - we played giant chess outside, darts and snooker in their games room and watched a DVD from their great collection. They...

The cottage was so much nicer than being in a motel room although it was a similar size. There was space and garden screening between the three cottages so that we had some privacy and the small front deck was lovely and sunny in the evening and just right for a relaxing glass of wine. The cottages are situated just...

We stayed in the cottage known as "The Fantail" which is a lovely cottage equipped with a full kitchen except for an oven, a comfortable sleeping area and great porch. The cottage is located in a quiet courtyard with gorgeous landscaping. The only sounds to disturb are the birds warbling away and why not, this is a nice place to...

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Clive Colonial Cottages. The facilities are excellent: kitchen, bathroom, beds etc.The location is fantastic for cycling, wineries and Havelock North, Hastings and Napier explorations. Our host had no problem providing bikes for us to use, breakfast for our first morning and generally very helpful. A couple of points - the bedrooms are quite small with...
