          1 star for the staff (to lazy? to say goodbye). 3 stars for the food: nothing special, expensive. 5 stars for the Hotelroom. Surely I will not come back to stay there. Perhaps just for a cold beer. The first disappointing days in 24 years...More

          What a great place to stay for a night. Nicely restored 100 year old hotel, great rooms, good bed and vene had a visit form the house cat Ted. Meals were excellent and the hosts were all very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble....More

          The reviews on this hotel do not inspire me to want to stay here. Can someone from the hotel give me a response to the negative reports. I am travelling on the rail trip in March next year and had thought to stay at this hotel. Thanks, Allen.

          We thought th hotel was great -good atmosphere of a typical old country NZ pub; but would not stay again because we felt the accommodation was overpriced. Cost was $150 for the night ($75pp) but that was with shared bathroom... More
