Great place for a 1-2 night stay in Lake Tekapo, which is what you need. not expensive and not the greatest looking place, but who needs to spend time in the room when you have the beautiful lake just outside your door! good for a cheap family stop in town

A long drive to Lake Tempo is rewarded by the famous view. This hotel/motel is perfectly placed but as others have said it's old fashioned and basic. Nevertheless it had everything we needed for one night. Beds were fine and even had electric blankets. It's well kept by the staff, though by accident we left a folder at the front...

Stayed here three years ago and it was in need of a refurbish then. Warm and a comfy bed but no plug in the bath. Phoned reception and Darren was there with one after five minutes having run through an almighty hail storm. Very impressed! Thanks

This place was terrible. Very old room. The bed springs probably died 30 years ago. A square of rooms encircle the pool and look directly at it, so the pool lacks any view and in fact is being viewed by a number of people. A long hallway goes past all the rooms and we were woken up very early by...

This a great location hotel. Though it needs a remodel, it worked for us. Clean rooms and friendly staff. Walking distance to stores, cafes, bars and excursions. Get a room on first floor with a lake facing room so you can sit outside and soak up the views of the Lake and Majestic Mt Cook. Excellent Japanese restaurant , Kohan...

It cost $176 for the night - far too expensive for what it was!! It was the dearest and worse of the places we stayed at during our short trip down South. The Hotel must have been lovely in its day but is now run down and in urgent need for a make over. The power plate in our bathroom...

Staff were very nice and helpful. The room was very dated and in need of a refurbishment. We had to get an extra heater from reception as the air conditioner couldn't cope with the cold weather. The bathroom was in quite bad shape

The hotel is very dated but our room was comfortable with good heating. I did not even attempt a shower as we were only there 1 night and were going to the hot pools on our way out. The staff are friendly.

Room was very outdated and unclean!! Very run down and musty!! Walls were so paper thin we could hear the couple in the room next to us having sex. The carpet was very old and had holes through it. The shower was not cleaned and vinyl was rotting. Shower curtain was just a normal old curtain from a window. We...
