We stayed for two nights at Mellow Out in very late May and although there are three rooms and they are often busy, there were no other guests those nights. While not close to a town, it is very centrally located for the Bruce Peninsula, with lots of walks, such as Lions Head, within an easy drive. We had the Lavender room and loved its gentle décor and spacious bathroom. It also receives lovely late afternoon sunlight which was great at that time with temperatures still relatively cool. It opens off a general recreation room with a guest fridge and billiard table, as does the Blue room - great for a group of friends. The hosts were charming, helpful and easy to chat with over breakfast which was wonderful – a very attractive fruit plate followed by a choice of hot dishes.
We came back after 5 years and were as impressed as the first time. Great service, very clean rooms, warm welcome. The breakfast is amazing! The house is surrounded by trees, no need for AC even when it's a hot summer day, always fresh and cool. The only thing we regret is waiting 5 years before coming back.
Okay, yes, it's not really in an area where you can't walk around; it's in a secluded spot, BUT it is an easy short drive to many locations in the Bruce Peninsula. Our hosts were welcoming, the room was spacious and clean, bed very comfortable. Breakfast was tasty and elegantly prepared. And our hosts were very helpful with suggesting things to see close by. I would go back again with pleasure.
Awesome place, hosts are amazing make you feel at home. Very well kept, spotless, bedrooms beautiful. You will not be disappointed. Breakfast and service was like a 5 star hotel. Very quiet at night, can't say enough.
Ed and Maureen were wonderful hosts. The Blue Room and ensuite were beautiful and exceptionally clean. Breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed conversation with Ed and Maureen. All in all a wonderful stay. We were able to see a lovely sunset over Lake Huron at the end of Pike Bay Road.
