If you are looking for peacefull place close to few decent Ski areas - this is the place ! The owner is nice, friendly and craziest (positively) host I have ever met :) The apartament is big enough for realy big family. You have everything you need in the apartement. Only two things that could lower my rating is steep...

Our favorite place in Carinthia since a few years for our annual vacation with the kids and short breaks for mountain sports. Friendly, bit crazy, hosts (Swedish - Portuguese couple with a cat) who know the region inside out and happy to advise you. The village is pretty & quiet but very very small. The only place to go for...

Very nice people run that place... it was fun and a great holiday. The place is a old "pfarrhaus" and it was renovated with a lot of taste and love and a passion for details :). I will definitely go there again. For kids the nature is right in front of the door, and Al knows a lot of nice...

Thanks for your kind words, I guess all of the work renovating the house has paid off. It was great meeting you, but it was a shame that it was such a short stay. Hope to see you again some other time. Bring the hiking boots, I'm sure the mountains will still be here.

The apartments are located in a beautiful old vicarage in the small alpine village of Altersberg. The area is great for hiking and skiing - many of Austria's best ski resorts are just over the hill. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend it.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hundred year old Rectory, situated 900 meters above sea level on the sunny slopes of Gmeineck, in the Austrian Alps. I renovated the Rectory to a comfortable standard while keeping the charm of the old house where possible. "Das Pfarrhaus - The Rectory" sits in the middle of the tiny farming community of Altersberg. The village is very child friendly with little or no traffic, unless you count goats running across the road. Trekking holidays are extremely popular and quite a few routes start at our front door. There are three beautiful crystal clear lakes within a few kilometers of the house, a summer paradise for swimmers, cyclists, walkers and motorcyclists. Winter paradise for Skiers, Skaters, Ice climbers, or just walking in a winter wonderland. The Italian and Slovenian borders are a mere 40 minute drive from us. ... more   less
