The rooms were basic but comfortable. There is a lot of history about this place. The setting is very pretty, overlooking a lake and woodlands. You can go to services at the church. There was a set programme over Christmas and the New Year, with arrange visits to St Peters Basilica and central Rome.

Good afternoon from a sunny Palazzola! Thank you so much for your comments. I am sorry that your score for cleanliness was only 3. Could this be because your room wasn't cleaned every day? If this is so, I am not sure if you noticed our little sign in your room informing you to request cleaning at any time during...

Palazzola has the most fantastic relaxing atmosphere with the greatest possible character. It is vitally important to look at the website in advance in order to ensure that you will be happy with its quirks and if you are still happy, you will love the place and be brilliantly looked after by all the team, very much including George who...

Dear Simon, Thank you very much for your kind comments about Villa Palazzola. I appreciate your comments very much and wholeheartedly agree with everything you have said about our "quirks". Palazzola is a difficult place to describe and people looking for a 5 star hotel with mini bar and flat screen TVs will be disappointed. However we do have a...

We have visited many times and love this place. The view is breathtaking; food and company always superb. It is a wonderful place to stay to escape from the hustle of Rome and venture in for a day or half day of sightseeing.

Villa Palazzola is a wonderful place to stay on so many levels. The staff, the food, the private and public areas are all, without question, first class. I have stayed at Palazzola several times now, for both business and pleasure, and it's not really worth looking around for anywhere else to stay. So, just book up and prepare to be...

Palazzola retains it's past history of monastic life in the building, with its own chapel and cloisters. Many of the rooms are now en suite. The food, Italian, was excellent. Being there during the festive season we enjoyed two six course banquet menus. Beautiful lamb on Christmas day meal. Lunch and dinner was helped down with carafes of wine, and...

What a truly stunning destination we chose for our recent wedding in November. We travelled with 25 of our family and friends, and the welcome and hospitality we received were second to none. The food in the communal dining room was outstanding, and the flowing red and white wine went down a treat. The rooms were spotless and homely and...
