We visited at the end of April in a group of 12 to celebrate our friend, Jemma's, birthday. Borgo Alveria is a hidden gem. Luxurious bath and bedrooms, beautifully appointed and well-equipped pool and utterly delightful service thanks, in particular, to Mario who simply couldn't do enough for us. We'll be going back.

This is a tranquil paradise in the middle of nowhere about half a kilometre from the ruins of the old town on Noto (now called Noto Ancien) which was desroyed by earthquakes in the 1600s. What the owners have done to the place is truly impressive and the decor is delightful. The rooms are large and comfortable and there is...

In all the 4 nights we have been there we didn't receive a smile! Super rude people and they have no hospitality. The WIFI doesn't work, the opening and closing times of the breakfast and restaurant are terrible. The restaurant isn't very good and is expensive, there isn't a large variety of food at breakfast also! The rooms are very humid!...

For the few nights that we have been there we did not once receive a nice comment or a smile! They are very rude and arrogant people that don't have a sense of humor. The room that they had given us was extremely small and had a strong smell of mold!! They don't have any hospitality at all. They say...

The location is beautiful, very remote and peaceful (thank god for our GPS). The rooms are very well designed, with modern taste and very clean. We enjoyed our stay very much and would return with pleasure. The place is run by an extended family, and they are very kind, but not very cheerful -- we would have hoped for more...

We spent two nights at Borgo Alveria in a deluxe room (No. D2). Our room with stone-clad walls was spacious, with a small outdoor seating area which we shared with the guests of the adjoining room. Given the somewhat remote location and the narrow country roads we chose to eat on both nights at the restaurant, which is housed in...

we stayed here for three nights and used it for a base to visit a number of towns in the area. It is secluded (luckily we had the GPS coordinates!), but only a 15 minute drive into nearby Noto which is a fantastic town. The rooms are well done, with stone everywhere, so very clean, if a little cold. Overall...

Difficult to reach, no horeca around but their own expensive and poor restaurant. The rooms are beautiful but no facilities nearby. The host was very unfriendly since the beginning of the week and after a night changed our room without any explanations, we felt unwelcome and surrounded by unfriendly and cold environment. Wifi doesn't work and swimming, being in plastic,...

In a week we did not receive one smile. If we wanted the WiFi to work, we were told to just go somewhere else. After finding bats in our room, we were just told that that's not their responsibility. This list can easily be extended, but the message should be clear. If you want to spend a lot of money...

We all found this hotel to be very welcoming and the owners went out of their way to make sure that we had everything we needed. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with drinks and on our early morning departure four days later breakfast was served exclusively for us when it was much earlier than the normal serving...
