We spent a nice day in a remote part of Tuscany with Nonna and her able staff. They really showed us how to make traditional pasta, and inadvertently showed us how history can freeze development (example, 500 years ago Florence faced a salt boycott from rival Pisa; and STILL bakes bread with no salt). Nona does not speak English, which...

This was a phenomenal experience! Valeria and Nonna were exceptional hosts and we learned so much. The ingredients were fresh, the instruction was patient and thorough and the food delicious! The grounds are lovely and the home charming. Would go back in a heart beat!

We stayed in the apartment at the restaurant and not only ate at the restaurant but also took a cooking class. The only reason I couldn't give it 5 stars was the pillows! It sounds silly but they were like two flat rocks...miserable! The food and staff were warm and friendly. The cooking class was well worth the money and...

Thank you so much for your nice review and for being such enthusiastic guests at all our activities too. Sorry about the pillows...someone forgot to tell you there were extra ones on the shelf in the walk-in wardrobe. Best regards from all of us at Le Piete Vive!

Nicola, the owner, is a very nice person and treated us very well. The place is pretty quite and relaxing and the access was very easy. The room is large and rustic. Everything was good, except they didn't remove the waste of the bathroom during the 3 nights we stayed and didn't change the towels. We thought about doing the...

Thank you for the nice review. We are very glad that you enjoyed your stay with us.... sorry about the towels, a little misunderstanding; if the towels are thrown on the floor or in the basin the staff know to change them otherwise the would br renewed anyway after the 3rd day. Sorry you couldn't join us for the cooking...

Our last night in Tuscany for our honeymoon was meant to be just perfect. Hoping for some of the best food from the area mixed with some great vino and a stunning atmosphere so having reviewed a great number of restaurants in Sienna and the surrounding area, we expected just that from Le Piertre Vive and decided to book a...

Just a short drive outside of Siena in the countryside, you'll find Le Pietre Vive. We stayed in our own apartment complete with kitchenette for 4 nights and were sad to go. Breakfast was brought to our door each morning. Note that the shower and bath is very tiny with low ceilings. (My 6'4" husband didn't really fit!) We had...

Alice thank you so much for the lovely review. I am happy you enjoyed your stay with us..hope you didn't have too many bumps on your heads, this house is several hundred years old and I think Italians used to be shorter in the past :-). Nonna ciana and the cooking class team also send best wishes.

We took the cooking class with Nonna Ciana and Valeria and it was brilliant! Loved every second. Delicious food prepared and all the secret tips and tricks of the ways about cooking it. My husband and I took a cooking class with Nonna Cianna and her assistant Valeria during our stay in Siena. I searched for a cooking class for awhile and this was more than I could have asked for.
