The whole stay in Casa dos Vargos was beyond imagination - a pure pleasure! We entered the world of fairy tales - the mansion, its history, amenities and the smallest details were full of style and very enjoyable. We enjoyed everything - the cozy beautiful room, the picturesque terrace, the rich and highly tasty breakfast. But touching the old books...

We stayed here and loved the charm and history of the palace. It has been in the owners family for centuries and she kindly gave us a tour and told us some of the interesting history of the building. It is like stepping back in time, not much has changed on the site, the same plentiful plants and flowers were...

It is one of the best places we have ever stayed, and we usually stay in the best of the best)) Very beautiful house, like a castle, nice big territory, very charm and quiet! Pilar is one of the best person we have ever met! We felt ourselves like a part of her family! As we came on Christmas Eve...

We (46 and 45 years old) stayed at Caso dos Vargos for 3 nights in August. It was our intention to visit portugal for 11 days and to see life in portugal in his origins. Staying at Casa dos Vargos with Pilar was one of the highlights and it's a pity, that we had booked only three nights there -...

This is one of the nicest B&B where I have stayed in during my stay in Portugal. Especially the care Pilar has for breakfast, showing us around and the admosphere is fantastic. The surrouding area is nice. Staying there makes you understand history of rural Portugal. Thank you Pilar for your care and letting us stay in your B&B.

Staying with Pilar in her beautiful home was the highlight of our Portugal holiday - a wonderful old family home which forms the heart of its quiet little village, and a perfect base for the amazing old monasteries, castles and hill towns in the area: Tomar, Batalha, Alcobacar, Almourol and much more (national parks, dinosaur footprints....). The recently completed IC9...

There are so many beautiful Posadas scattered around Portugal inviting you to visit and feel a part of history, but Casa dos Vargos delivers that on a completely different level. An excellent base for exploring the local sites, to stay here is to step back in time. Generous and knowledgeable proprietress, Pilar Tamagnini, has deep family roots here and is...

We stayed here for 2 nights with our 2 young children. The place is suitable for people wanting to get away from it all but is also very family friendly. It's very spacious with large bedrooms overlooking a green courtyard. The place is run by the owner, and it has been in her family for a long time. She has...

“All the rooms are lovely, let them help you determine which best fits your specific needs. And GPS coordinates are helpful as the house is in the center of town and can be a little hard to locate.”
