To describe all the ways Mr. Rui took care of our family would just be too long. Suffice it to say I have never experienced hospitality and attention like that. If you ever happen to go to those mountains, you owe it to yourself (and your family) to stay there. We only stayed a night, but we are already planning... More

Friendly and helpful hosts, can't really say enough about how nice the owner and all the family are. The mountain houses are beautiful, very typical, an well maintained, with lots of options of number of rooms etc. We visited in the summer, and I would love to be back in other time of the year, it must be very nice... The cicerone (Mr Rui) was 5 star and always looking forward to ensure that nothing was missing for our stay to be perfect. We truly felt home...the location is super special, I could have just stayed there, what a calm setting and rural experience! The breakfast was delicious with different options of fresh bread and handmade jams, local Serra da... More

Rui told us we were only the second pair of Australians to stay at his magnificent property. There is little we can add to earlier reviews other than to say our time there will never be forgotten. The hospitality extended to us by the family was overwhelming and we would love the chance to return their kindness if ever they... More

Excellent welcome reception from Mr.Rui. Amasing to rest and enjoy the nature. Very close to Seia. The breakfast is the best...local products like "queijo da serra", homemade sweet, fresh bread, amasing homemade cakes...

Very nice traditional and fully equiped cottages situated in a small typical town in the mountains. The owner, Rui, is incredibly friendly, always available and has a lot of advice on activities in the surroundings. Very nice breakfast including fresh fruit salad and the delicious regional Serra cheese. Nice pool with a stunning view of the surroundings. Even though it... More

Excellent combination between landscape and what’s most traditional and picturesque in Portugal, since the houses with their fireplaces, the food and specially the sympathy and help of Sr. Rui. I invite you all to come and see if this is true. Many thanks Sr. Rui and I hope you’ll be very successful. I’ll return whenever I can for sure.

It's a very cosy place, when we arrived the fireplace was burning and the owner welcomed us in a very friendly manner. The houses are lovely, the owner are super nice, the breakfast is wonderful. Resuming it made our stay in Serra da Estrela like being at home. I strongly recommend it!

When you think of choosing an alternative tourism to the standard hotels, you want to find somewhere in Nature, integrated in al old style village, where you are welcomed and treated as a family member. Well, this is the place. Our host makes every effort to meet our needs. What I value now looking back are the chats in the... More

This hotel plus one other have taken over most of this ancient small village about 10-15 minutes up the mountain from Seia. Our unit was basically a one-bedroom apartment carved out of an old house (with a double bed + bunk bed in the bedroom presumably because of skiers, although we came in summer). We had a nice view of... More
